He pee'd in the potty

My friend Janna had told me about starting potty training early and I always thought it was a crazy idea until tonight! No not Parker but Austin went in the big potty. At bath time, I undressed him and had a crazy idea to put him over the toilet, make the " sound", and he pee'd!!!! Parker got very excited too. Maybe if I continue, Parker will eventually catch on, but for now I will continue doing it with Austin! Such a Big Boy!!!

Another Day, Another Milestone

We had a very busy week last week. It was the first full week (3 days) of work, we went to the zoo, had Parker's 2 year pictures taken and cleaned the house. Whooo I'm exhausted thinking about how busy we were! In the midst of all the chaos, I discovered Parker has finally cut 1 of his 2 year molars. This would explain the fever, runny nose, fussiness and no appetite lately. Only 3 more to go. Saturday, Austin successfully rolled from back to front. He has been working really hard lately and would get very frustrated that his head was weighing him down!! I got so excited in the moment I started screaming and both boys looked at me. Austin then got excited but Parker was still confused as to why I was so happy. Only hours after reaching that milestone, he laughed out loud for the first time as I played with him. It wasn't just once but several times and almost so hard it was a belly roll!!!! We now begin another great week! I hope one of the boys has another exciting milestone this week. Makes me a proud mama to know they are growing and thriving!!

First Solid Food

This past Monday, Austin experience his first solid food and has since been fed twice. we chose pears which was also Parker's first food. He made lots of funny faces and pushed it out of his mouth with his tongue. I am going to try and be more consistent this week and feed him a solid food every night. Oatmeal and carrots are next!!!

Since leaving Eagle, We have been busy dancing, playing, cooking, painting, and just going and doing!! I love all the time I get with my family now without the stress of deadlines and phone calls. These are some pictures of all our doings...

4 Month Check Up

Monday, Todd and I took Austin for his check up with Dr Davidson. He got 2 shots and an oral vaccine. Dr. D says he is a growing healthy boy!!!

His stats were...

Height: 25.5 in. ---> 75%

Weight: 16.2 lbs. ---> 75%

Head: 42 cm ---> 50%

He has moved into size 3 diapers, wearing size 2 shoes and wearing 9 month clothes.

One Door Closed and Another Opened

My last day at Eagle was last Friday but last Wednesday I had told Parker's school I was switching him from 3 days to 2 days. His teacher asked why and proceeded to tell me that the school may be hiring. On my way out the door that day I asked the Director Laura who was taken back and surprised me by saying 'yes' we are actually in the need right now. We agreed that we would meet today to discuss. You can call it luck, you can call it fate or even a coincidence but I call it God's work. He always provides. I had no intention of trying to find a job but this is going to work perfect for me and my family. I will still get the time with my boys, not put them in a day care all day for someone else to raise and only work 3 days a week. I truly believe if you stop, put your problems in God's hands, he will speak to you. I know it is sometimes easier said than done sometimes. I am excited about my first day tomorrow. Please pray for me and my family as we begin a new journey!

New formula and no more meds!

After lots of gas and several fussy days and nights lately we decided to switch Austin formula from Parents Choice Organic to Parents Choice Sensitive. It is both easy on the tummy and low in lactose. So far is has been successful. We have also made it through one night of no prevacid without any fussiness from reflux so hopefully tonight goes just as smooth.

My Little Climber

Parker has learned to climb on anything and everything lately! Yesterday I was changing Austin's diaper in the living room when I hear beeping in the kitchen. I quickly finished changing him and went in the kitchen to find Parker pressing buttons at the alarm key pad. He had pushed the chair from the breakfast nook to the laundry room, climbed on top of it to press the buttons. I then took the chair away and told him that we don't do that so he went and got his truck backed it up and stood in the bed of it. when that wasn't tall enough he attempted to climb on the roof of the truck. He doesn't give up. He attempted the chair trick again tonight but got it taken away. He kicked and screamed for a good 20 min!! He must take after his momma! My parents found me hanging from the 2nd story banister at just 2 yrs old!

Yet another fun filled day as a family. The Fort Worth Stockshow and Rodeo started yesterday so we made plans to go to the All Western Parade downtown this morning and the stockshow after. The Parade was fun but very long. After and hour and a half of horses and bands we left. We went over to the stockshow and saw tractors, horses, cows, bulls...all of which Parker loved to look at. He really liked getting on the tractors the most. We also let him ride a few rides on the midway while we were there. He is a brave little boy and loves them all. He loves them so much a threw a screaming fit when he had to get off of them! It was a long day but a good one. Now I have 2 (maybe 3) sleeping boys and lots of tired feet. I am right behind them! Night!

Fun Times at the Zoo and Museum!!

We have been to the Zoo and Museum since the new year has begun. Both are places we have passes to and will have lots of fun over the next year!!

We went to the Zoo with Mimi. I love the zoo. We got to see a lion make a small roar when we were there which was cool for Parker. You never know if the animals are going to be lively or not when you go.

We went to the Museum with Megan, Madeleine, Meadow and Autumn. It is always a lot of fun. They actually showed us parts of the museum we had never seen. We can't wait to go back soon!

What's New With A

Austin is starting to get very vocal these days! He is chooing more and more every day and will carry on a chooing conversation with you sometimes. Here's a video of his latest chooing:

He is almost rolling over from back to tummy but can't get his legs to flip with the rest of his body so he starts crying in frustration.

He is 15 1/2 weeks old and finally slept through the night for the first time last night. It was a wonderful feeling this morning when I realized what had happened. I actually felt rested for the first time in a long time.

We are moving from 6 months to 9 months clothes in some but not all outfits. These are clothes that Parker wore when he was 9 months old! I love how different but the same my boys are!

What's New With P

Parker has been talking a lot lately and trying to say just about anything you ask him to. Two of his favorite words are Moon and Sun. We look for each one day and night and point it out and always tell the moon goodnight!

He has also been a big helper. Every time I am in the kitchen cooking or doing the dishes he wants to help also. He quickly pulls up a chair to be right there to watch and help. I love that he wants to be so involved in everything we do. It may take longer and even cause a bigger mess but well worth the time spent with him. There will come a day when he may not want to do these things so i am enjoying all the small thing now!

I have been promising a video of Parker doing his muscles for 2 months now and here it is finally!!

It's In God's Hands

This past Tuesday I received the news at work that they are wanting me to start coming to the office every day and that I wouldn't be able to work from home any more. This left Todd and I with a tough decision to make, put the boys in a full time day care all day everyday or quit and stay home with the boys. After several days of looking at finances and praying about it, we made the decision for me to stay home. I have always felt very strongly about not putting the boys in a full time day care for someone else to raise. I brought them into this world to raise them, not someone else. Although things will be tight, we will make it and be OK. Todd and I have been through tougher times.

I am looking forward to all the time I will get with them. We now have museum and zoo passes so we will spend lots of time in both places along with the park and pool this summer!!

This has been a very scary move for me and I have had lots of tears and emotions but I know its the right things to do for me and my family. I know it is in God's hands and he will get us through it.

It went and said my goodbyes today. It was bittersweet. I work with a lot of great people and will miss them greatly.

Christmas with the 'Cranks'

So the title has nothing to do with anyone except it just popped into my head when I started blogging! We had our final Christmas with my immediate family on New Years Day....more food, more drinks, more presents and more fun! We enjoyed each others company while the kids played then opened gifts. Parker got a new kitchen from Mimi and Papi, food for the kitchen from Ryan and Jennifer and Museum passes (for both boys) from Megan and Josh. Austin got Zoo passes (for all of us to use) from Mimi and Papi, a sweet Gap onesie from Megan and Josh and outfits from Ryan and Jennifer. The are very spoiled to say the least!!

There weren't any pictures taken of Austin that day because he was fast asleep!!

Christmas 2011

This Christmas was not only a lot of fun for Parker because he kinda understands whats going on but it is also Austin's first Christmas! Christmas morning Austin slept till 9am so we got up and did Christmas with Parker first. Santa was really good to him this year and brought him a truck and gas pump. We also got him a shopping cart, pot and pans, Yo Gabba Gabba dance mat and paints. Parker was in love with his truck immediately and loves taking rides in it throughout the house. Christmas afternoon we went the my sister's for Christmas with my mom's side of the family. Madeleine and Meadow got a trampoline from Santa and Parker had a ball on it jumping with them! It was a magical Christmas especially seeing it through the eyes of Parker. I think he already loves this time of year with the twinkling lights and wonderful music.

3 months

While we were at the Dr for Austin's Sore throat virus we got a weight check on him and he weighed in at 13lbs 15oz!!! Yep he his a CHUNK! He is a growing boy! We have officially moved him from the bassinet in our room to his bed in his room for both naps and bed time, working on a nap schedule and are in the process of switching to formula.

Austin has always been a very gassy baby and if my diet ventured far from anything but cereal, it always gave him grief so for the sake of my sanity we are switching to formula. He is still on the acid reflux medicine but as long as it's given daily he is good.

Some of the things he likes to do is swing, play on his mat, hold his new sensory balls, and be held by his mama (of course). I bought the Moby Wrap carrier from Todd's

cousin to put Austin in so I have both hands free now to do other things and keep up with Parker. It has been real helpful at the grocery store, park and outside playing.

22 Months

Parker is 22 months which means he is only 2 months away from turning 2!! Seems like yesterday we were celebrating Birthday number 1 along with announcing that I was pregnant. He is in the process of getting over a double ear infections. This past Monday night after I put him to bed he screamed his head off. After going to get him and rocking him a bit he told me he had an owie in his ear so first thing the next morning Todd was off to the Dr with him. He is doing much better after being on some really strong antibiotics. I feel like I have lived at the Dr lately. If it's not one its the other!

He is still cracking us up with his funny expressions. He is really into any kind of moving vehicle now-trains, planes, cars, motorcycles...he will hear a loud one drive by and lean to the side with his hand to his ear to listen to it!

He also got a chance to really test his lawn mower out. Todd mowed the lawn the other day and Parker did the same right behind him with his mower. It was the sweetest thing to watch. He really enjoys being a big helper when Todd works in the yard. they also trimmed lots
of bushes and trees which prompted wheel borrow rides!

Parker had another experience of having older siblings...this time my nieces, Madeleine and Meadow! Megan and Josh left of vacation for a week leaving me with their 2 rug rats! 6 days of nonstop fun, work and exhaustion! I am not sure I could have 4 kids, work and keep my sanity. We had fun but were happy to be home. We had our normal routine of school for Parker plus the girls school, piano, and dance. Not to mention we had to run to Arlington one day to take Austin to the Dr. We found out he had a virus causing a sore throat which Parker had also had several weeks prior. Nancy said his throat was sooo swollen. Poor baby.

Megan left me her camera for Madeleine's Dance recital which we totally conquered with 4 kids! I also had fun with it an took tons of pictures of Austin while Parker was asleep one day. He was too cute...I will definitely be getting one of these cameras soon!

Christmas Lights and Santa

Wow! I know I am way behind once again so I have grabbed my wine and am doing some catching up...

December 9th, We took the boys to Prairie Lights in Grand Prairie. We drove through looking at all the lights and when we got to the back we were surprised to find a tint, 2 rides and more lights. We were very excited to find out Santa was there. We bundled up the kids and in we went. Santa was first on the list before the line got long. I wasn't sure how Parker would do....he screamed!!! So now we have a Santa picture with me, Santa and the boys! He always talks about Santa now and points him out where ever we go! We also rode the two rides which Parker did not want to get off of...the kid is so afraid we are going to rain on his parade!! I loved the f
eeling when Parker got so excited about the lights..."woooow"!

I love spending time with Parker and Austin and I get lots of it now days since I work from home. I am very grateful for this opportunity to have the best of both worlds although it can be stressful and trying at times. As you may have noticed, I am way behind on my blogs and playing catch up.

Parker is a growing boy but has become a bit of a difficult child. It must be the age. He is very set in what he wants, likes, doesn't want and doesn't like. He seems very fussy at times because he is either wanting attention or doesn't get what he wants. I know it is a stage and hopefully he will out grow it soon because it's driving this mama crazy! He still loves his brother. He makes sure and gives his kisses good night weather it be for nap or bed time!

Some of Parker's new words include spaghetti, Megan, Madeleine...he is attempting most words and making sounds of animals. Specifically using his arm as a trunk and making a sound like an elephant! He has also wanted to be a big helper all the time and very independent. He wants to turn things off and on (switches, dishwasher, washing machine), he is good at putting away and picking up his toys when asked and he has helped me cook spaghetti and brownies in the past week. I ask him if he wants to help me and he pulls up a chair and assists in the stirring. He gets so excited about it. I have loved sharing these moments with him and it has worked great because Austin has been asleep during this and he has gotten my full attention. Last night after we made brownies, we curled up on the couch to eat them and watch the end of Polar Express!!

So I finally though Austin was out growing the colic until last night. He had a rough time between 7:45 and 9:30...poor baby cried and cried forever. I'll take the one day out of 7 though. He was been holding up his head really well, recognizing faces, noticing his hands and sleeping really well. He pays a lot of attention when Parker is around watching his every move!

I love these boys to death and wouldn't change a thing. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful family.

Yo Gabba Gabba

Todd and I planned a fun day for Him and Parker about a month ago. We bought tickets for them to go see Yo Gabba Gabba live in Grand Prairie. We have been talking about it and telling him about it since. We even have been watching the Live show from LA on TV so he would get excited. Well it doesn't take much for him to get excited about Gabba! He loves this show. December 3rd was finally the big day to go see Gabba. Our goal was for him to get a good nap before going and he got about half a nap but some nap is better than no nap! Todd said Parker was in awe the whole show! After the show they got to go back stage and meet the members or Gabba. He got down and ran from Todd to get to Muno!

When I got home that evening, I could just see the glow and excitement in his face as he told me all about it...pointing to his new Gabba shirt and showing me his Gabba light up stick! What an exciting memory for Parker and Todd!

2 month check-up

Austin went for his 2 month check up November 22nd. He is a healthy growing boy. He got 3 shots and an oral vaccine. He screamed his head off and turned bright red much like Parker did at that age with his shots. His stats were as follows:

Weight: 12.6 lbs ---> 75%
Height: 23.24 in ---> 60%
Head: 38.2 cm ---> 15%

His next check-up will be at 4 months.

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a great Thanksgiving with both sides of the family this year. The Sunday before the big day we went to my parents and celebrated with lots of food and family. Parker played really hard with the girls. Then on that Thursday we drove to Mt Pleasant and back for Thanksgiving with Todd's family. Parker had a blast playing outside with all the kids. They played with 'daball'! We then celebrated Christmas that night with his parents. Parker got a lawn mower which he loves. He was pushing it everywhere in the house. Austin had a rough time that evening with a tummy ache. I was not careful with what I ate making my poor baby hurt :o(

Both Thanksgivings were wonderful and great time spent with family. We look forward to this time of the year!

Zoo Mania

The weekend before Thanksgiving Todd and I planned a family day and took the kids to the Zoo. Parker had been there a year ago so it was time we went again! It was a lot of fun! We packed a sack lunch and ate it when we go there and then began our adventure! We were there a total of 4 hours. Austin slept most of the time and Parker passed out toward the end of the journey! He loved seeing all the animals especially the tigers, elephants and fish! We are looking forward to going back in the spring and many more times with our Zoo passes! Snoozing as usual!

Parker is at a really fun age. Although his is a crazy lil toddler that has his moments, he is hilarious and cracks Todd and I up all the time. He is obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba and walks around saying 'Gabba' all the time to anything. His words include Gabba, Mama, Dad, Bubba, Mimi, Papi, Gaga, Nana, Dog, Kit Kat (cat), duck...he growls for most any animal or truck, motorcycle, points out bird, planes. He loves to play outside still and has been really busy driving his cars everywhere. He is also interacting with other kids more. We met a girl at a park several weeks ago who has 2 kids (3 and 4 yrs old). We try and get together weekly to let the kids play and they love it. I love to see my baby grow in different ways, especially establishing relationships with other friends! "uh oh" there was food on Daddy's face...gotta pick it off!

I have finally found the time to do some updating. Lately Austin has had colic therefore my nights have consisted of a bit of work mixed with a challenge to calm a screaming baby from 1 -3 hrs. It has made us exhausted. Some nights have been better than others in the past week. I bought Colic tablets last week from Whole Foods that seem to be helping and we have reverted back to swaddling. It helps to have Todd around so we are able to take turns holding and calming him. The Dr. says he should outgrow this by 3 months!!! Makes me want the time to pass but at the same time I hate that he is growing so fast. Tonight has been a good night so far. He has fussed very little and is taking little cat naps. Hopefully he gets a good nights rest along with mommy and daddy!

He will be 8 weeks Thursday and already growing out of his 3 month clothes. He is definitely not having a problem putting on the weight like Parker did. I can't wait till his 2 month check up next week to find out how much he weighs and how long he is.

He is awake more during the day but usually takes several naps throughout. He has also started smiling, following faces and light and is holding his head up like a champ.Smiling while he's sleeping!

Happy Howl O Ween

I had the two cutest Sock Monkey's around this year for Halloween! Parker's was a planned outfit and Austin's was courteous Leslie Babineaux. Austin's outfit just so happened matched a hat I had already had made for him for his newborn pictures. It was a real challenge to get Parker in his that morning for school but I managed to do it with all the kicking and screaming! The hat was a hit or miss thing but didn't stay on for long. That evening we were packing things up to head to Weatherford for Trick-or-Treating and while Todd was changing Parker's diaper he discovered Parker had completely pooped out of his diaper and the costume was full of it also...yuck!! Todd threw Parker in the tub for a quick wash and I hand washed the costume. On the way to Weatherford we hung it out the window for a quick dry! I am so glad Todd was around for yet another chaotic moment at the Dehls' house!

The night was a success even if Parker refused to walk up to any house or even say Trick-or-Treat. He got a handful or candy (which is too much :o)), went through a mini haunted house without screaming and passed out candy with Madeleine and Meadow at Mimi and Papi's house. We had a blast but were all pooped including Austin who managed to sleep majority of the time!

Busy Busy Weekend!

We all look forward to the weekend but I am glad this one is over with. It was a very busy weekend. Saturday, we made our rounds starting in Weatherford for Meadows last soccer game. She is such a good little soccer player. She scored 2 points in her last game. I am so proud of her! next, we drove to Southlake for a Birthday party. Upon arrival we discovered Parker's diaper was so full that his pants were completely soaked so he had to be that kid running around in a diaper and I was the mom who came unprepared! Parker had a blast at the party. It was at Jump for Fun with tons of inflatable to jump in and slide on! After the party we had to go shopping for some pants before heading to Forney for a Halloween Party/House Warming Party at Ryan and Jennifer's. On the way we made a detour to McDonald's to kill some time. There he played with several older boys in the basketball area. He does really good at fitting in with other kids and playing. He just jumps right in and quickly becomes the center of attention! Finally we arrived at my brother's beautiful new home for the party. It was a nice time and another chance to see the family. Parker got lots of play time on the stairs teaching Liam how to go up and down! 11 hours later we arrived back home. Parker had only had 2 30 min naps and we all crashed, even Austin and he slept most all day!

The next day we failed to make it to church after waking up late from some much needed sleep. We were able to get some things done around the house and ended the day on a date. Parker stayed home with a sitter while Todd, Austin and I went and ate dinner at Italian Inn. He was not his usual sleeping self on this dinner date but very fussy. He had an upset tummy. I didn't ruin the date but added to the eventful weekend!

It was a great weekend but very busy...I was looking forward to the week after that!

Pumpkin Patch

We took the boys to a Pumpkin Patch last week and Parker loved it and Austin slept! They had lots of wooden cartoon characters every where...one in particular that Parker loves "Yo Gabba Gabba"!!! He was in awe over them and very excited to see them. There was also a wooden truck for him to get in and play with the steering wheel, a pumpkin house, a field of pumpkins, and a bounce house slide. Parker loved the slide. It was the very last thing we did before leaving and he left there kicking and screaming! It was a fun first Pumpkin Patch for Austin and just fun for Parker!

Showers

I was blessed to have two showers thrown for Baby Austin after his arrival. Sunday, October 23rd, my sister and mom threw me a shower with family and a few friends. It was a nice gathering with good company. It is always good to see the family. I got lots of goodies for Austin including...the johnny jumper, bathtub, a book, gift cards, lotion, bubble bath, wash, Austins name blocks and the split screen baby monitor!! I love my new baby monitor. I can see both rooms on one monitor. It will be great when we get Austin in his room also. The name blocks look awesome in his room on the shelf above his bed! It was definitely a special day honoring my sweet baby boy. Having the shower after his arrival also gave everyone a chance to see him and hold him.

Shower number two was the next day at Winewood in Grapevine. This shower was thrown by work and Chrissa and Leslie. It was a small nice gathering for lunch. I got lots of diapers and wipes and gift cards.

I am truly blessed with great friends and family!

He is keeping mommy on her toes. Everyday has been a new adventure. You never know if he is going to be a sweet little angel or if he is going to give me a run for my money! The last two days have definitely been a real challenge with Parker. He has wanted to do things when he wants to do them although I am busy tending to Austin. I know it will get better...hopefully sooner than later. On another hand, he has grown into a little toddler and no longer a baby. I love him no matter how he acts. He will always be my baby!

Thursday I took Austin for a weight check so Nancy could determine what the best amount of his zantac would be best for him. He weighed in at 8 lbs, 14 oz!!! Much bigger than Parker did at 1 month. Parker weighed 7 lbs, 4 oz at a month. Austin is my growing boy. He is almost out of all his newborn clothes and for sure out of his newborn diapers. He is growing so fast but still sleeping great. Last night he managed to sleep from 9 to 1:30 then 1:30 to 4:30 and 4:30 to 7:30 in the bassinet. It was wonderful except for the fact Parker woke up crying and ended up in our bed.

The Two Ring Circus

Last night was definitely a circus at bath time here at the Dehls house! Todd got Parker bathed then it was Austin's turn. I bathed Austin for him to poop EVERYWHERE as soon as he got out! So I called for Todd to help get another towel. In the mean time, Parker was not dressed yet and got up to see what the commotion was. Shortly after, I hear 'uh oh' and find him peeing on the floor. Austin is now crying and so is Parker as I am chasing him while he pees everywhere. We could only laugh at the whole thing. I was so thankful Todd was home for all this or it may have been even more crazy!

Ms. Nancy says my boy is perfect! He is growing and thrieving. I asked about his gaging and she said it may be reflux but she wasn't going to do anything unless it was bothering him...well a day later, it started bothering him. I hate to see him hurt so I have started him on a reflux rx that Parker had until Monday comes. I hope he starts to feel better soon.

2 Weeks Old!

Austin was 2 weeks old yesterday on his original due date. So far we are truly blessed with a very content baby that sleeps most of the day only waking up to eat. I can honestly say he is totally opposite Parker. He sleeps and eats great. He has been a lot of places...Meadows soccer game, Mimi and Papi's house, on walks...but usually slept through each place! He is such a laid back child. I am truly blessed to have him and his great temperament! What would I do with another high maintenance child?!?

Big Brother is all grown up!

Parker has shown to be a great Big Brother at times since Austin has arrived. He has also grown up in many different ways....looking older, talking more and wanting to do everything himself! He has done very well at school especially during drop off and pick up. There has been a lot less fussing. I am so proud of him. With all this being said he has also had his struggles with the new baby. He constantly is battling for the attention even though he gets a lot of attention. It has been more negative attention lately. He gets into everything he knows he is not supposed to when I am busy feeding or changing Austin. This will definitely be my biggest struggle as well as his in adjusting to things around the house. I hate to get on to him and have very guilty feelings when I do because I know all he wants is to have my attention also.

This week Parker has had a very bad virus which is causing a sore throat worse than when he had strep throat. I feel horrible for him especially since I can only give him Advil for the pain and there is no antibiotic that will cure him...only time will heal this one. Makes me sad. There have been several sleepless nights around here lately because he wakes up screaming and ends up in bed cuddled up with us and not sleeping well since Austin wakes us all up to eat also.

Potty Training Time

Yesterday, we started encouraging Parker to go to the bathroom on the Big Boy Potty. Since he is very aware of when he is going to the bathroom and will get his own diapers now, we thought he may be ready to use the potty. Yesterday morning it was an attempt...as he only sat on the potty but this morning he potty'd in the potty after shorty peeing on the floor first. As soon as he started peeing he said "Uh oh"! It was so cute. All this came with a little bit of screaming on Parker's part but I think he was proud of him self after he finally went. Geez...my baby is growing up way too fast.

Dallas Arboretum

Today we had a great family outing at the Dallas Arboretum. Although not the fall weather we would have hoped for, we had a great time! We went through the pumpkin patch and picked the perfect pumpkin for our house. Parker had a blast running around and getting to pet the farm animals. He was not too fond of the face painting so we quickly moved on to something else. Austin on the other hand slept from the minute we left the house until we got home! They were both exhausted tonight and were off to bed in no time. We really enjoyed the Arboretum and look forward to going back another time!

Thursday, September 22nd Todd and I arrived at the hospital at 6am to be induced. 2 hrs after arriving I finally began receiving the pitocin and by 2pm received my epidural. It was a long day and by 7pm was ready to get this show on the road already! At 7:30pm I did some practice pushes followed by the nurse telling me she was going to get the Dr to deliver the baby!! Todd just so happened was out of the room and after sending him a text, he came running down the hall! At 8:05 we had a beautiful baby boy! He weighed 6lbs 15oz and was 19 1/2 in long. We named him Austin Maddox.

Parker has been very protective over his brother and a big helper since arriving home. I am so blessed to have all my boys in my life. They are all very special to me! I just know Parker and Austin will be best friends.

The Last Family Outing Before The Baby!

Here we are less than 24 hours from checking into the hospital. I am so excited about the big day tomorrow and hope Parker will feel the same way when he gets to meet his brother or sister. We took Parker on one last outing before the baby's arrival. Our attempt to go ride the Forrest Park Miniature Train failed so to the park we went. I sat on the sidelines as Parker and Todd played. He had a ball going down the slide and swinging. It was such a bitter sweet moment. He will officially be a big brother tomorrow!!

I got the official news this morning from my Dr. I will be induced on September 22nd. I will arrive at the hospital at 6am to begin the process. I am so excited about meeting my little angel and to be relieved of the pain. So much to do in just a weeks time...grocery shopping, hair cut for the hubby, do some paining, family time, hair cut for myself, laundry, cleaning...the list is endless!

First Day of School

Wednesday was Parker's first day of school. He was such a big boy and walked all the way into the school holding daddy's hand and wearing his backpack. We got all the way to his class, fussed a little at the door and then went to his teacher. He had a good first day. He played so hard on the play ground he even bumped heads with another child! He's so rough and tough! The day flew by without him here. When Todd went to pick him up, he was busy playing. The teacher called his name and he turned, saw Todd, smiled and said "Hi"! When he left he walked back out of the building holding Todd's hand. This is great progress because this summer he refused to walk in, he wanted to be carried in.

He had another great day today! This will be great for both Parker and myself once the baby comes. It will keep him busy with his friends. He will be going three days a week--Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. He is growing up so fast but will always be my baby!

35 week check up

I got the most wonderful news today at the Dr...I will be delivering on or around September 22nd! I have been in a lot of pain recently and the whole bed rest thing is really wearing on me emotionally and mentally. I will be 38 weeks September 22nd and will be able to deliver a healthy baby! This day is also my dad and Madeleine's Birthday! What a special day this is. I have two more appointments at my doctor's office then to the hospital I go to have this sweet little baby that has been giving me such grief! I can't wait. It is more real to me now that those words came out of the doctor's mouth! Oh so much to do now...well for Todd to do and for me to watch!

18 Month check up and Preschool

Yesterday Parker had his 18 month check up and it went very well. He was such a big boy, when the nurse called his name he jumped up and ran right to the nurse following her to the room. He also did great while being measured and weighed.

Weight: 24 lbs 8 oz -->30%
Height: 32.25 in. --> 50%
Head: 47.2 cm --> 30%

He had 2 shots at this visit, a vaccine and a flu shot. He only screamed a little and then was ok with the comfort of his thumb and duck blanket. He won't have to go back again for another check up until he is 2 years old.

Tonight, we went to Parker's school for meet the teacher night. I was very excited about meeting his teacher but hesitant about how Parker would act since he had a very short nap today and it was so close to his bed time. When we got to his classroom he was a bit hesitant at first but warmed up quickly playing with toys and the other kids. I am very excited about this school year and all the fun activities for Parker. I also ran into a girl I went to high school with who's little boy is in Parker's class. I hope they become good buddies. We are looking forward to getting them together for play dates after we both deliver our babies in the next month. Parker starts school September 7th...I am looking forward to seeing Parker show me what a big boy he is.

34 Weeks Baby #2 Update

Here I am 34 weeks into my pregnancy. I am on bed rest and going crazy! this sweet baby will hold a special place in my heart and an even bigger memory! He/She has made me go through a lot emotionally and physically in the past month. I have had a live style change that I am not used to. We are on the count down with only 6 weeks to go. My Dr appointment this past Thursday went as expected...Dr said to continue to rest and we will take it on a week by week basis. I will now go weekly to the Dr. until delivery.

Cousins...

Parker's cousins, Ashleigh and Lauren, came and stayed at the house Wednesday night through Friday to help with Parker while I was able to work. They were a big help and came even more in handy when I had to go to the hospital Friday morning and they stayed home with him. They kept him very busy playing inside and outside, sliding, playing with chalk and playing in the pool.

Since they have left Parker has been at my parents while I am in the hospital and Todd is at work. He has gotten time with his other cousins, Madeleine and Meadow, over there. They played in the driveway, played with the baseball, and went swimming. He was exhausted last night after all this fun and no nap yesterday. I am looking forward to him coming to visit today me today as I miss him very much!

Stubborn Baby or Stubborn Mama!

I am now 33 weeks and back in the hospital. I came in Friday morning with bleeding just like I did a month ago. The Dr has kept me till the bleeding stopped and for observation. I no longer have placenta previa but a low lying placenta. which can still cause bleeding. I am staying another night in the hospital so the specialist, Dr Goldaber, can come in and sono me again for a second opinion. I will continue to be on partial bed rest so this stubborn baby better stop all this bleeding!!

32 week check-up

So, I'm almost a week behind on this post but a week ago I had a Dr appointment and got great news. The placenta has completely moved and I no longer have to have a C-section. I asked for a second opinion just in case but my Dr assures me that it has completely moved and that it is very clear on the sonogram. God is good! I am still having to take it easy because I am in a lot of pain and doing too much leaves me feeling horrible so I have been going to my parents a couple times a week for my mom to help with Parker. I go back next week for another check up and then another sono 2 weeks after that appointment to reconfirm the placenta is still completely moved.

The count down is on... Only 7 weeks and 1 day left till my due date. I have drug all of Parker's stuff (clothes, toys, etc...) out of the garage and have been going through it. I have washed the generic newborn clothes and plan to do more much closer to his/her arrival. We plan to put the crib up in the middle of September and move the changing table and rocker in the baby's room then also. It will all come together as soon as the baby is here and we know the sex!! Can't wait!

Parker Update

Wow! I have not been very good at blogging the last couple weeks but I'm back. since the last blog, Parker went and stayed at Megan and Josh's with his two crazy cousins Madeleine and Meadow. He was there 2 nights and did very well. They went to the park and played in the water, chuck E Cheese, and church. The girls kept him very busy and he had lots of fun! The next week Parker's Aunt Denise came in from Georgia and stayed for a week. That Thursday, Todd was off and they all went to an indoor safari park in Southlake. Todd said it was hot and not as cool as the website made it out to be...very disappointing. The next weekend, Parker and I had a very busy Saturday. We went to Chick-fil-a for lunch, then to a baby shower, a house warming party, then finally to Fuzzy's for dinner. I was exhausted and in a lot of pain. The next day we had more visitors...my brother, his wife and Autumn. It was great to see them walk in the door as I was not feeling well. They kept Parker entertained while I got some much needed rest.

We have been very busy in a different way these days. Parker has had to adjust to new people coming and staying at the house. I think we are just down to staying at home with Todd or my mom or going to Weatherford to stay at my parents for the month of August. Parker has loved all the attention.

Some of the things Parker is doing these days:

1. Saying "uh oh"
2. Feeding himself with fork or spoon
3. Talking a lot although we can't understand most things he says
4. He can buckle his booster chair strap but not unbuckle it
5. Understands commands
6. Picking and choosing when he wants to nap..which doesn't always make a fun day for mommy and daddy

Week One of Partial Bed Rest

Mimi, Macy and Parker the day I got home from the hospital! Mimi kept Parker while I was in the hospital and they bonded. He hated to see her and Macy go!

I survived the first week of partial bed rest. Although I am able to get up and do a few things, I am mostly on the couch, in bed or sitting down with my feet up. Todd's parents came in last Friday when I got out of the hospital. Larry only stayed the weekend but Reba was able to stay until yesterday. They were both a huge help and kept Parker entertained while I was able to work and get some rest. I am very thankful for all the help I am getting from family and friends. Upon their departure, my sister and the girls came and picked up Parker for the weekend giving Todd some much needed alone time at home!

Today, Todd and I had a date day. It started with massages which were absolutely wonderful and relaxing. We then had lunch, pedicures, did a little shopping for the baby and had a much needed nap! The day ended with dinner at Hottubs Backporch Gratto. We are now 'food drunk' on chicken fried steak!

We got Baby #2 a going home outfit while at Babies R Us. One for a boy and one for a girl both in preemie size. I know Parker was small enough for that size and if this baby comes early will need that size also. They are itty bitty!

The Hospital Stay

I have been suffering from a cold the past week and at night cough so much I can't sleep. Tuesday night was really bad. I moved to the couch then eventually had to go to the bathroom. By now, Todd and I are both awake. We have a real scare as I am bleeding really bad. A quick phone call to the Dr, whom tells us to come into the hospital and then to my mom to come stay with Parker since it was now 1am. Once she was there, we were off to Arlington Memorial. Arriving around 2:30am, I was sent to labor and delivery, asked some questions, they put a fetal monitor on me and did a sonogram. The Dr said that I still had a partial previa but she wanted a second opinion from a specialist. I also got a shot of steroid which will help the baby if I have to deliver early and a second shot 24 hrs later. By the time I got to my room and settled it was about 4am and there was barely any sleep in my future. Everyone does there rounds around 7am, so you have to be ready to be poked and prodded every 5 secs. The specialist finally made it in after lunch and did a sonogram. He discovered that it is not a partial but a complete previa so he is 99% sure I will have a C-section. He said that when I get released that I will have several restrictions also. After talking to Lisa (my nurse when I had Parker), she said that every time I bleed I will have to return to the hospital to be monitored and that I can't lift P. She also said that my activity will be limited. The Dr will be by in the morning so we will see when she has to say. I am prepared to be sitting a lot and have also started making plans for Parker while I am home and mostly while Todd is at work.

There are some trying times ahead but I know it is in God's hands. I am at only 28 weeks so I hope I can make it about 8 more weeks to 36 weeks. This way the baby's lungs will be more developed. The baby only weighed in at 2lbs 14oz when the specialist did the sonogram so looks like this one will be a preemie.

I have received a lot of encouragement from family and friends. It has definitely lifted my spirits. My boss also suggested I read Philippians 4. I look forward to reading it as soon as I have my Bible. Beautiful flowers were delivered to my room today, sent by my wonderful hubs and Parker.

Todd and been so strong through all this...helping with Parker and filling all the gaps while I am gone. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.

Prayers are needed at this time for the safety of the baby over the next couple weeks and until delivery.

3D Sonogram at 27 weeks

Today, Todd, Parker and I went to see baby #2 in 3D. Parker did very well in the stroller during the sonogram. We also found out that the placenta is still partially covering my cervix. I will find out more at my 28 week appointment next week but the sono tech speculates there won't be any change and that I will have more sono's after that. The baby weighed approx. 2lbs 4oz. The heart beat was 153bpm. We still have not found out the sex of the baby but the sono tech did. We will just have to wait 3 more months (13 weeks) to find out! Todd and I both agree that baby #2 looks a whole lot like Parker. The lips and nose are very much the same!

July 4th Weekend

What a great weekend filled with relaxation and food. It never fails...there is always good food and lots of it when our family gets together. We started off the weekend Saturday at Megan's celebrating Fathers Day since we were all sick on the actual father's day. Sunday Parker and I went on a journey to the park and the donut store. It was a very long walk for this mama. Parker had the luxury of riding along in the wagon! I definitely paid for it the rest of the day though. The girls came over to my parents that afternoon and we all swam as Parker took his 4 hour nap! At dusk, the girls did sparklers in the driveway. Monday was the most relaxing day. We did just about nothing. We got in the pool all three days and ate all day long it felt like. Monday night, Todd and I watched the fireworks on TV. This was a first for us since we always go somewhere to watch them but because of the burn ban and a cranky little boy we opted to spend the night at home in the comfort of our beds! Over all it was a great holiday weekend but never long enough. We always look forward to these 3 day weekends but the go by so fast. What a wonderful way to celebrate our country's freedom!

The Bloody Nose

Todd and I picked up Parker from school Wednesday. When we arrived the teacher quickly explained that Parker decided to walk down the slide rather than sit on his bottom and fell face first into the carpet. Although the slide is not very tall, it left an awful mark on his little nose. here is a picture of my sweet boy when we picked him up....Day number two..it had scabbed over and was hurting him pretty bad. He can't catch a break lately. The ear infection is back and he either had a cold in his eye or pink eye and now the nose issue. Geez!

Pain in the Belly

About a week ago I started having a lot of pain in my lower stomach and It still has not gone away. I went to the Dr Monday to get checked out. The Dr. suspected preterm labor, but thankfully the test came back negative. She has given me pain pills that seem to take the edge off but knock me out at the same time. The pain is now in my back and making me more and more uncomfortable. We are thinking that because the baby is sitting so low that my muscles are stretching. Well whatever it is, it is a horrible feeling. I am getting to the point that picking up Parker is very hard but I do it rather than listening to him scream and yell. I am 26 weeks today, so only 14 weeks (3 1/2 mo) to go. I'm sure it will be here before we know it but it will seem like forever if this pain continues.

Out with the highchair...

We have finally made the transition out of the highchair and into a booster chair that straps onto a chair at the dinning table. Parker has been insisting that he sit at the table lately so I knew it was time. We used it for the first time at dinner tonight and it was a huge success. Not to mention we had spaghetti to break it in also which was also a huge hit.

Parkers 1st Week of School and Family Sickness

Monday was Parker's first day of school at McKinney Memorial Bible Church's ELC here in Fort Worth. I was very anxious and nervous that morning before taking him. Not only did I have to get myself ready but him too and out the door. It went very well and we even arrived early. He was clueless as to what was going on and very anxious when we got there. Once i got him signed in and pointed in the right direction off we went to his class. I chose to let him walk and hold his hand rather than carry him to see if the transition would go OK but once we got to the door he grabbed my legs and began screaming. I knew I couldn't linger or it would make things worse so off I went down the hall feeling like a guilty mother who had just left their child with a screaming stranger. I called and checked on him about 11:30 and he was doing fine. They had just left the indoor playground and were headed back to the class for lunch and nap. I was very anxious to pick him up that afternoon. He was very excited to see me which is the BEST feeling in the world! When we got home, I discovered a piece of paper in his bag which had a brief summary of what they did that day. It stated that they played music with bells and pianos; that he had 2 wet diapers; slept some (1 hr); and ate some. I was very surprised to find out he slept on his nap mat for a full hour! I was so proud of him that I took him to OTB to have some Ice Cream! What a Big Boy!

On day two, Todd has to take and pick up since I was at work. We were a little concerned because he had a low grade fever when he woke but he didn't seem to be feeling bad so we sent him anyways. The drop off went about the same with a lot of screaming and at pick up he was excited to see Todd. His paper stated that they went outside and looked at leaves, he had 2 wet diapers, he ate some and slept some (1 hr). I beat Todd and Parker home but was so excited to see my little muchkin! He was burning up when I got him :o( Running a fever of 101.5 but showing no other signs of sickness. As the evening progressed after calling the Dr about 3pm, I was back on the phone with them at 5pm scheduling a Dr Appt for the next morning. He was becoming excessively fussy and I knew something must be wrong. After a him going down in his own bed about 6:30pm he woke up about 10:45pm and that is where he slept the rest of the night...in mama's arms. Poor baby woke up at 1am with a 102 fever and just wasn't feeling well.

The next morning I took Parker to the Dr where we found out he had a middle ear infection in his left ear. Thank goodness he wasn't contagious (so we thought). My sister came over that afternoon to keep him while I rushed off to a work event. She said he was so tired at 6pm that he was laying in the floor trying to go to sleep so she put him down to sleep. Once again he woke up in the night with a fever so I slept in the upstairs bed with him. Oh it was such a rough night. He did not sleep good and neither did Todd. Todd woke up feeling very nauseated in the night. The next day, Parker and I hung out together and then went down for a 3hr nap at 10am. Upon us waking up, I felt very nauseated my self. Got a phone call shortly after waking up from Todd saying he's coming home from work because he's sick...much to our surprise the next 48 hours at our house was no fun at all. We all had an ugly virus and Parker had an ear infection on top of that. I have never watched so much TV in my life I don't think. There came a point when both Parker and I were no longer able to eat or drink and I was so weak I could barely walk. Thank goodness the doctors nausea meds worked or I would have been in the ER. We all laid around all day Saturday.

This virus was evil...my sister, Madeleine and Leslie (co-worker) all got it also. Thank goodness it's over for now at least!

Despite all the sickness, I think Parker did well at school. We shall see home tomorrow goes when Todd drops him off.

24 Week Appt for Baby #2

Although I won't be 24 weeks until Thursday, I had my Dr appt today. It was just another normal check-up...pee in a cup, weigh-in, check blood pressure, listen for the baby's heart beat and ask any questions. The baby's heart beat was 152bpm. I will go back at 28 weeks (July 13th) for my glucose test and another sonogram. Prayers are welcome that the placenta has moved up.

Parker's 1st Vacation

Wednesday, June 2nd Parker, Todd and I got all packed up in my car and headed to Galveston around 9:15pm. Parker was fast asleep for our 5 hour trip. It was a rough time for Parker after we arrived. He wouldn't go back to sleep because we were in new surroundings and was scared. Finally around 5am he fell asleep sitting up on the couch and away he went to his bed.

Day 1: Woke up late after going to bed at 5am! We choose to go into Freeport rather than Galveston to find lunch and the grocery store. Big mistake! there is nothing in Freeport and it is forever away. We finally found food and a grocery store after driving an hour. After getting back to our house we headed down to the beach since my parents had not arrived yet. Parker was unsure of what to think about the beach and water but quickly warmed up and was playing like a mad man. Running in and out of the water, splashing and playing. It was finally nap time and we all crashed in anticipation for my parents arrival and the Maverick game that night! Days 2-4: Consisted of time on the beach playing, naps, good food, watching the Mavericks and playing cards. Very relaxing and fun days! Saturday June 4th was my parents Anniversary so we went and ate dinner at Gaido's in Galveston. It was very good but Parker got very antsy as he always does when we go out to eat these days. Day 5: Was a very hot and humid day with no wind. We went down to The Strand, ate lunch and went to a few stores. We took this day off from the beach.
Day 6 and 7: More beach, naps and food! Not to mention a trip to CVS to pick up my prescription the Dr called in because I am pretty sure I had strep throat. We also ate dinner at The Spot which turned out to be really good!

Day 8: Our vacation was over and we were heading home. So sad to go home but ready for my our house, bed, etc... The ride home wasn't as peaceful as the ride there but thanks to my sisters portable DVD player on the head rest with Yo Gabba Gabba in it, Parker survived the trip and didn't fuss too much.
It was such a wonderful trip. There are many memorable moments from the trip Todd and I got to share with Parker. He is such a bundle of fun. He may have gotten tired of the beach by the end of the trip but he had so much fun playing in the water, picking up seashells, pointing and chasing birds ("s" as he would say), looking for fish ("sh sh" as he would say), destroying sand castles, building sand castles and digging holes in the sand with daddy. He had no fear and would run straight out into the water but thankfully stop about the time it got up to his knees.

Parker also started saying a few words on the trip...bath, night night, "c c"= Macy, and "s s"= Moose. He loved playing with my parents dog Macy although I don't think she liked it too much! We look forward to going back next year with both babies!!

15 Month Check-up

My little boy is growing so fast. We went for his 15 month check-up today. He weighed 22lbs 12oz (25%), was 31 in long (50%) and his head was 41cm around (50%). The Dr said he is doing very well. He will be taller than he is heavy just like his mommy and daddy (haha!). He only had to get 1 shot today but still screamed his head off.

What is Parker up to these days:
1. Follows directions when asked to sit down so we can put his shoes on
2. Understands things we tell him..."let's go outside", "it's bath time", "it's night night time"...
3. He is eating like a big boy pretty much anything we feed him. He is very verbal about what he wants, saying "that" and pointing persistently until we understand that is what he wants
4. Mimicking things we do like spraying hairspray, vacuuming, putting on deodorant...he likes to include the sounds also!
5. Gives kisses
6. Tries to say words such as fish, trash, shewy but he can say that, Dada, mom and dog
7. Stacks blocks together and destroys anything you may have built
8. Likes to listen on the phone and occasionally might say something
9. Loves watching the Moose on Nick Jr.
10. Runs to my cell phone saying 'Dada' when it rings and when I call someone on my blue tooth in the car says 'Dada' the whole time it is ringing
11. Opens and closes doors
12. Gets into the kitchen cabinets and closes the door to hide

Parker has 10 teeth now and is cutting his bottom two one year molars now. He is Mr. Independent and throws a fit when he does not get his way (Hello Terrible Two's!!!!)

Summer is here!

I have been looking forward to this summer for a while now. Parker is at the perfect age that we can play outside in the play pool, sand/water table, on the play ground, go get ice cream, go on walks and enjoy the fun summer activities. We have gone to the park twice this week and Parker is really getting a hang of going down the slide without getting scared. I can't wait for our week long vacation to the beach in less then a week!! He is going to have so much fun. It will be a real joy to see things through his eyes.

20 Week Appointment

I am 21 weeks now but last week, Todd and I went to my 20 week appointment and got new pictures of the baby! We were so close to actually finding out but I knew we would regret it so I quickly opted to not know. The baby is right on tract measuring 8in and weighing 11 oz. The HR was 154 just like Parker's was. This made me start thinking it is a boy.

The only issue was that the placenta was still very low. She wants me to have another sonogram at 28 weeks to see if it has moved. If it has not moved then I will have to have a C-Section. This is not something I would ever opt for but if it is in the best interest of the baby then that is what needs to be done.

The baby has been move active, kicking a lot especially when I am sitting down at night after Parker goes to bed.

School

Parker has officially been signed up for a 'Mother's Day Out' at McKinney Memorial Bible Church. He starts the week after we return from vacation and goes Mondays/Wednesdays from 9a-2p. It is an Early Learning Center with a Christ Centered Curriculum. Todd and I are very excited about this opportunity for him to interact with other children. We went and toured the facility last week which prompted us to sign him up! He was ready to get down out of our arms and run right into a class. I just hope that when the actual day comes, he will be just as ready to go. We bought him a big boy Monkey backpack last night and just need to get him a nap mat. Hopefully we will both be able to hold it together on his first day.

Baby is Moving!

Thursday night I saw the baby move in my tummy for the first time! Although I have been feeling the baby move for several weeks now, I actually saw my stomach become deformed and move. It's one of the craziest parts of pregnancy. I am getting more and more anxious to know if we are having a boy or girl but am trying to be very patient as I know it will be worth it to wait. I hit the half way mark on Thursday (20 weeks) and go Wednesday for my check-up and sonogram. Can't wait!

Wow! I am truly a blessed mother and daughter. This was the best Mothers Day! Todd really out did his self....dinner and flowers Friday night, chocolate covered strawberries delivered Saturday and a fabulous day Sunday with my family at the parents! I am so thankful for my mom and mother-in-law. They are wonderful people that inspire me to be a great mom.

Today at my parents we enjoyed a great lunch followed by Ice Cream Sundaes all of which Parker was asleep for. It was nice to be able to relax while my little booger got some rest! When he woke up at 4pm we played and had lots of fun. He loves playing with the water hose and he even got in the pool. I love that little boy. He's too much fun!

17 Weeks

I am 17 weeks, 5 days pregnant today! I am feeling much different this go around on my pregnancy...much more tired, less sick, and not so focused on what to expect each week because I know now but anxious to know how Parker is going to react and feel once the baby gets here. My days are filled with spending time with Parker when I'm not working and letting him know that he is of utmost importance in my life. I don't want him to feel neglected or of unimportance when the baby arrives. I have read many things on helping siblings when a baby arrives and one of them is to involve them in the daily routine of the baby...have him help with the diaper changing, help rock the baby, and let them hold the baby. All of which will be very interesting with Parker.

All plans to decorate a nursery are being put off until we know where we will be living. If we are still in the same house come the first of September then I may have to go ahead and get the nursery ready. We are going to move our guest bedroom to the now empty room and make the guest bedroom the nursery. So that's the plan! The ultimate plan would be in a different house in Weatherford...3b/2b. The kids will share a room and the extra bedroom will be a guest room or play room. We will just have to wait and see where the Lord guides us.

We go May 19th for our 20 week visit and we also get to see a sono of the baby! We are looking forward to seeing how much the baby has grown and changed since it was just a little pea!

Sick Baby

We made it 14 months without Parker getting sick. Monday morning my dad woke up with strep throat so I new it was only a matter of time before one of us got sick since we were around him all day Sunday. After 3 nights of restless sleep for Parker and us, I took P to the Dr today to find out he has strep too. I hate to see him sick but am loving every minute of cuddle time. I took a 2 1/2/ hr nap when we got home from the doctor and spend lots of time cuddling with me the rest of the day. Hopefully now that he is on antibiotics he will get a better nights sleep so we can too!

What a Blessed Weekend

We had a fun filled Easter weekend but it first started with a long time friend getting married. Friday evening, we left Parker with a sitter again and enjoyed the evening out at a wedding and dinner. I have know Nicole since I was 2 yrs old and it was so great to be there when she tied the knot! It was also nice to have some time out with the hubby. Parker did great with the sitter and was sound asleep when we got home.

Saturday we drove to east Texas to have Easter with Parker's Nana and Gaga and the rest of their family. We enjoyed a nice lunch, Easter egg hunt and visit. It is always great to see everyone on that side of the fam as we only see them a couple times a year. Parker put a lot of miles of his little legs running after all the kids, playing in the water and hunting eggs. It was a good visit and wee look forward to going back this summer. Parker crashed on the way home then refused to go to sleep once we got home. What a turkey!

We were up bright and early again Sunday headed to church and my parents for yet another Easter. We enjoyed both lunch and dinner although I felt like I grazed all day! Parker and his 2 cousins M & M hunted Easter eggs and played their little hearts out all day. Again, those little legs got lots of miles on them! When we left, Todd and decided there was no sleeping for P on the way home so he would sleep when we got home which was successful. He was out when we got home.The weekend was very busy but a lot of fun. I always enjoy the holidays especially when I get to spend them with my family...the people dearest to my heart!

Eventful Weekend

We had a fun but eventful weekend. It started off with Parker pulling my straightener off the bathroom counter and burning himself on the pinkie just as Todd and I are about to leave for dinner. He quickly calmed down but it looked pretty bad. We left Parker at home with a babysitter. Ms. Bethany did great with him and she loved him. We went to dinner at Joe T's for Todd's 40th Surprise Birthday Party!!! He was surprised and was able to enjoy the evening with great family and great friends! The next morning, Parker and I dropped Todd off at work (because I have another flat tire..ugh!) and headed to the March of Dimes walk at Ferrington Field. We met up with a friend and Parker's girlfriend Ella and several other people where we walked to honor Baby Camden. Camden was born at only 1 lb 7 oz and 17 in and is doing great now at 7 mo! It's amazing what miracles these hospitals work. We walked 3.1 miles and this prego mama felt every mile of it. We were exhausted and in need of a nap and so that's exactly what Parker and I did before taking my car to get the tire fixed. Did I mention...Parker wanted to go on a wagon ride before we went to Discount Tire and again after we got home. I am pretty sure I walked 10 miles that day! We were so excited to go pick dada up and spend the evening grilling out. I love these time together as a family. We were all exhausted that night. The next day Todd was off and we took Parker to get blue bonnet pictures which didn't turn out too good due to the gusty winds and then we went downtown Fort Worth for the Main Street Art Festival. We love people watching and eating the yummy food. Overall, it was a great weekend and family filled which is so very important.

Parker went to the doctor which was also eventful. After Todd and Parker waiting over an hour, they were finally called back and I was fuming. Parker's burned that I originally thought wasn't so bad ended up being a third degree burn. His had was scrubbed clean, medicated and now wrapped in gauze and a sock which goes all the way up to his shoulder. He can't stand it..pulling and biting at it all the time. Tonight I cried till he fell asleep because he couldn't suck his thumb to sooth him self. I am emotionally drained today from all the guilt of this happening to him. Todd and I will have to clean and wrap it once a day to help prevent infection. The doctor says if it looks better by Thursday then the sock and gauze can come off. I sure hope my baby gets better soon.Parker's finger on Saturday...On the way to the Dr...After the Dr with the sock on his arm...Taking a bath with it covered because it can't be submerged in water.

Parker Man Update

We have been very busy lately leaving me no time to blog. So this is a catch up up date on the P man. He is still keeping us very busy when he is not asleep. He wants your full attention whether we are playing inside, going on a wagon/bike ride, playing in the water or playing in the sand table. He loves to play and stay busy. He is such a joy and a lot of fun. He is still eating like a big boy...he likes most anything you feed him or put in front of him. He especially likes to eat the food before I buy it at the grocery store! He points and says "that"...meaning that he wants to eat it "now". He has developed a little demanding side of him lately. When he wants something whether it be food, to get down, a toy or something else in sight he screams. There are days when it is really bad and days like today when he may do it only once. Todd and I do not tolerate it at all. He is quickly told no and directed in another direction. If this fails he has received a spanking or time out. We definitely have a strong willed child on our hands! Lord give me patience because I sure am going to need them. We had no luck with te childcare issue. The one center we visited was not somewhere I would ever think about putting him. It was not clean and did not seem to be the right environment for Parker. That motherly instinct of mine just told me it wasn't right! The schools we want to put P in will have openings in the summer and I am looking forward to putting him there just 2 days a week since I will feel comfortable with it. More updates to come as the time nears. We are now counting down the days to Easter. We are looking forward to seeing lots of family. Until then here are pictures of our recent doings...

Heavy Heart

I have a heavy heart tonight as Todd and I have made the decision to put Parker in a school 2 days a week. I have been contemplating this for quite a while now and have finally made the decision to more forward and find a school. After much disappointment when I spoke to my top choices and they are full, I am going with another school which I think will work out the best after all. I know God has plan and I trust that it will all work out. I go on a tour of the school tomorrow morning and hope it is everything that I am looking for. Parker will go with me so I will get to see him interacting in the environment. If all goes as planned P will start school Tuesday. Many prayers are welcome during this difficult time as a mother. I know it is one of many but when you have had your baby at home with you for 13 months now, it's a hard to let go.

Check-up for baby #2

All this talk about Mr. P and I almost forgot about the little baby I am carrying! Thursday, I went to the Dr for my 2nd visit. The baby's Heart Rate was 164. I also asked the Dr. about my due date and she said because I ovulated late and the baby is measuring small that my due date is now October 6th! We are going to have a little fall baby! The Dr visits are a month apart right now and pretty basic. Two more months and we will get to see that sweet baby again!

I have continued to be very tired. Last night my evening consisted of sleeping off and on initially falling asleep at 7:30p and waking up to go to work and still being tired. I'd drink coffee but since being preggers I have totally lost the taste for it...bummer!

Besides playing baseball and the new do, Parker has been a busy boy.

* He is still sleeping through the night (7p-7a) and napping one time a day.
* He is eating lots of new foods...ravioli, chicken spaghetti, corn dogs, white castle hamburgers to just name a few.
* He loves to go outside still and to the park.
* He is trying to talk more and more everyday.
* He is a big helper...he likes to throw his diaper away after changing him and putting clothes in the laundry or washer and dryer.
* He has successfully transitioned from the bottle to a sippy cup to drink his milk!!!! ~a HUGE accomplishment!!!!!

My First Hair Cut

Parker got his first hair cut and did very well. We went to Cool Cuts since I know it is kid friendly. The over all experience for him was good except the no a/c and unfriendly hairdresser. There was a little area for him to play while we waited which is a live saver. I think all businesses which may require a wait should have this for children! He got to sit in the red fire engine chair and watch Elmo. I chose to just trim his hair. I kinda like the long look but it was covering his ears and that was bothering me. There was no screaming or crying just a lot of curiosity. He wanted to see everything she had and wanted to hold it too. The Little Baseball Player

Parker got a little t-ball set right after his birthday. Todd and I have shown him a few times how to hit the ball off the tee. Yesterday, he placed the ball on the tee, picked up the bat and swung the bat holding one hand. I had to hear all about this special moment over the phone but when I got home he was happy as ever to show me his new skill and I even got it on video!

The weather has been so nice this week! Parker gets to enjoy a ride in the wagon daily and time to play outside. He even got to spend a little time playing with bubbles and in his new water/sand table this afternoon. It is a huge hit already! He has toys outside, inside, upstairs and downstairs....he's not spoiled :o)

Exhaustion

Here we are at the end of week 11, beginning of week 12. I am so tired all the time. Just to get myself and Parker ready to go to Meadow's Birthday Party Saturday, I found my self struggling to stay awake as I was driving. Not to mention my bed time is shortly after I put Parker to bed at 7 and I am most definitely taking naps when he naps and I am still tired. The end of the first trimester is so close and I hope my energy reappears. I had big plans to be active during this pregnancy and not gain so much weight. I'm not starting off very well spending so much time in bed!

One Year Check Up

Tuesday, I took Parker to see Dr. Hampton for his one year check-up. He says he looks great. He wants me to transition him to the sippy cup for his milk which isn't going very well. I tend to get a very unhappy little boy who throws the cup and spits out the milk. It's going to be a real challenge.

Some of his stats are:

Weight: 21 lbs. 4 oz -----> 25%

Height: 29.5 in. -------> 50%

Size Clothes: 18 mo.

Size Shoe: 4 1/2

Food: Solid food, anything we eat he tends to also like. Some of his favorites this week have been spaghetti, sweet and sour meat balls with rice, sweet potato fries and hamburger.

Favorite Things To Do: Ride in his wagon or trike, play with his baseball bat and play with his instruments

Everyone knows now and I am definitely feeling very prego today... I think the baby knows everyone knows and that it isn't a big secret any more. We will be waiting to find out the sex of the baby again but we have names already picked out. For a boy it will either by Asher Dylan or Austin Maddox (Austin is after a close family friend we lost several years ago) and for a girl Rylee Jordan. Oh the excitement of waiting to find out.

The Big Birthday Party!

My little Parker Wayne had his first Birthday Party today! It was a huge success to say the least. The planning only took 6 months. Every little detail was planned out. The entertainment was a huge hit. I hired a train to come to the house and pull the kids around in the backyard. The kids loved it. The decorations included RR signs, Happy Birthday signs, balloons, and streamers. The cake was a train cake make of candy and cookies accompanied by orange cupcakes. Each child got a engineers hat with their name on it along with a bandanna goody bag.

A total of 42 people came to the party! Big crowd! After an hour of riding the train we opened presents and then had cake. Parker got fussy during presents but a bottle was a quick fix to that. I got so carried away with all the activities and fun I forgot about his bottle schedule. Milk is a MUST to that boy! He picked at his cupcake at first but quickly dug in and enjoyed every minute of it.

After opening all the toys, clothes, books, trike, wagon and 4-wheeler, Parker opened a very special gift that Todd and I gave him. It was also a shocker for everyone. When the present was opened there laid some sonogram pics. I said "oh look Parker, it's your sonograms pictures". To follow was a shirt that read "I'm gonna be a big brother". I then held it up for everyone to see! It took a minute for everyone to catch on but once they did they were very excited. It was such a fun way to share the news!

I hope every one had a great time and we are thankful for those who were able to make it. We look forward to sharing many more birthdays with family and friends!

Baby #2

I had my first doctor's appointment Thursday with a new doctor...Dr. Finke. It went well. Parker went with us and was a BIG hit with all the nurses. He ran up and down the hallway getting a lot of attention. We had the baby's 1st sonogram which was much like when we had our 1st with Parker but less anticipation since we knew what to expect. The baby measured 1.5 cm and had a heart rate of 162 bpm. My due date is either Sept 30th or Oct 6th. I was so distracted with Parker I forgot to ask!

The only people who know about this sweet baby are my self, Todd, Matt Knieriemen and Staci Forrester. I work with Matt and Staci and had to let them know in certain circumstances...sharing a room and being sick and unable to carry heavy things. The cat will be out of the bag Sunday at Parker's Birthday party though. I am so ready because too many people keep asking me if I am prego and I have to lie! Oh please forgive me. It's for your own good :o)

Bye Bye Baby

I was away from Parker for the very first time this week overnight. I was gone Tuesday through Friday to Houston for work. When I left Tuesday, it was so hard. He was very clingy and when I walked out the door he had his arms stretched out at me crying. He didn't sleep the greatest while I was gone but got some good quality time with Todd and his Mimi. Todd sent me lots of pictures while I was gone and I got to talk to Parker on the phone a time or two. I was so excited to return home Friday. I was feeling horrible from the minute I got in that town...I think I'm allergic!

Upon my arrival home, I couldn't wait to see his reaction. Was he going to be mad or happy to see me?!? When I walked in the door and went looking for him, Mimi and Parker jumped out to scare me! Parker looked very confused as to why I was there but was happy to see me...I think!

We had a family day today since Todd was off. Cooked breakfast, laid in bed, planted flowers, got party stuff for the party next weekend and played! I was a much needed day together.

Wow! The weather has been very nice since the ice/snow storm. We were so ready to get outside. Sunday Parker and I had a mommy/son date. We ventured to the mall first which turned out to be a lot of fun for him. He cruised along in the stroller at first and then ran along side for a few. He was cracking him self up as he ran. When we got home we played outside.Parker watched me pull weeds and tried to imitate me and then eat the dirt. He loved running up and down the sidewalk and driveway utill he was so tired it was nap time. After nap, we ventured back outside to swing and pick up acorns. I love these times we have together...they create so many good memories!

Linus is Parker's nickname! He can't go anywhere now without his blanket!Exhausted from playing outside..

What could it be?

Our sweet little Parker has been a little terror lately. He wakes up at 5:30 or 6am and isn't his good little listener self. He likes to climb on the elliptical and play with plugs which are two big no no's. Is it the new baby on the way? Is it teething?

I have read online that baby's/toddlers know when a sibling is on the way and that they rebel against the mother. Wouldn't surprise me being that it all started about the time we broke the news to him a week ago. Do I really deserve this?? I'm giving him a little brother or sister. He should be happy! He will have someone else to play with. OK so maybe he doesn't see it my way right now but hopefully he will love being a Big Brother!

So if it is teething then I hope there are at least 5 teeth coming in. He hasn't cut a tooth since November so he is due for a couple more at least.

Snow Day #4

Today was day number four of being stranded in the house. It all started Tuesday with freezing rain, sleet and snow. Last night we got an additional 4 inches of snow which was perfect to play in. The snowman building didn't go so well though! Parker did very well in it. There was no crying just lots of smiles. This was his 2nd snow but his first that actually stuck to the ground.

Day #1: So cold...the high was in the teens!
Day #4: 4 inches of snow and we are now in the 20's for a high!
Parker has 3 layers of clothes on. I didn't want my little baby to get cold or sick.

I am very thankful for this time at home. It always seems like we are going somewhere so I didn't mind staying at home even though I had to work. We all got some quality time together because Todd was off work Today and yesterday.

Kisses for the Baby

Today the weather was frigid. We woke up with sleet and snow on the ground. Todd had to go to work but Parker and I were able to stay home in the warmth of our home. The weatherman says its going to be a COLD night with temperatures in the single digits...brrrr! Too cold for this mama.

While working at home and enjoying some time with Parker, I pointed to my belly telling him that the "baby" is in there. After several times of me telling him that he proceeded to give my tummy kisses. It was a great feeling even if he didn't know what he was doing. Hopefully he will give his brother/sister lots of kisses when he/she arrives!

Wow! Parker's Birthday is only a month away and baby number two is already in the oven! Todd and I have suspected for the past week and finally took a test Saturday, January 29th and I went to the Dr today for a blood test. We have decided to wait until Parker's birthday Party to tell anyone. I am horrible at keeping secrets so this will be tough but well worth it. I can't wait to see the look on their faces :o)

We told Parker Sunday morning when he woke up. He didn't understand a word I said but it was a very special moment. I have many fears about the new babies arrival. The biggest being Parker's reaction. I sure hope he is a loving big brother and not resentful.

11 Month Birthday

Parker is officially in the home stretch to his first birthday...28 days and counting! This weekend we met Megan and the girls and rode the Forest Park Miniature Train and took Parker's Birthday pictures. I will not be posting these pictures yet as it would ruin the surprise! I will tell you he looked like the cutest little engineer I've ever seen! He was very excited to ride the train but a very tired boy who passed out shortly after getting into the car!

I am very excited about his party and hope it's a huge success! We look forward to seeing everyone.

To Eat or Not to Eat...that is the question!!

Todd and I having a really hard time with Parker at meal time lately. The things he liked yesterday may not be exactly what he wants today. Today at lunch I opted for letting him feed himself. I started out with some mac n cheese, peaches and pizza. He only ate the peaches so I added some kiwi, brisket, cheese tortilla and pears to the mix. He loved the kiwi and brisket but left everything else. I just don't understand him sometimes! Here is a sequence of events as he ate.

Parker had a busy weekend. Saturday he got to hang our with his cousins Madeleine and Meadow and his friends Bryce and Pierce. He loved following them everywhere and was wore out that night. He also had 3 mamas! Madeleine and Meadow are always such big helpers. They spent the night that night and were all 3 up bright and early Sunday morning and in bed with me (Todd had left for work already)! It was a great weekend. I always enjoy when my sweet nieces come to visit and I know they enjoy it too!
The past couple Thursdays Parker has gone to work with me for a couple hours while Todd has a meeting at work. These are a couple shots as we walk out the door into the COLD!Parker still enjoys his bath. During this particular bath, we were all talking to Nana and Gaga on the phone.

My New Kicks

We made a trip to Stride Rite tonight for Parker's first pair of walking shoes! Now that he is on the go, good shoes that support his little ankles are a must. His soft sole shoes now longer do the trick and make it very hard for him to walk on anything but carpet. He loved getting to untie his new shoes once we were in the car!

Not only did Parker get new shoes but he got a new car seat....a BIG BOY car seat. Lately, every time we get into the car he screams and cries because he doesn't want to be in it. I think he's just testing us. Hopefully with his new seat and turning forward in just 1 1/2 months the screaming will stop and happiness will begin again!

10 1/2 months and Parker is full blown walking! Each day it seems that he is walking further and further without holding onto anything. He gets very excited and falls every once in a while but is doing very well! Here's a couple video's of my little walker.

After the last week, I think Parker may be a little confused! I'm pretty sure he thought he had two big brothers and now they are gone. Todd and I had the pleasure of keeping our friends boys, Bryce and Pierce, while they went out of town for 8 days! Yep day and night, Parker has had two 'brothers' to play with. He watched them wrestle, play the Wii, DSI and play Lego's. All things I'm sure he wished he could do too but was very content just watching.

I wasn't so sure the transition for sleeping was going to go very well but he slept better there than he did at home. He was taking 2 naps a day (sometimes 2-3 hr naps) and sleeping through the night (which is normal now).

While at their house, Parker also experienced his very first snow! It didn't stick but the flakes got very big!

Wow! Being a mother of 3 and having a full time job is A LOT! I give props to all those moms out there that manage to do it. I was one wore out mama and am still in recovery mode. There was always a lunch to be made, food to cook, diaper to change...Did i mention go to work too! Mom and dad time really doesn't exist at that point. Despite being tired, Todd and I really enjoyed our time with those boys. They are a lot of fun and we love them to death. I am sure there will be many more times Parker will get to enjoy his temporary brothers!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This year my family combined Christmas and New Years into one celebration despite Todd having to work Christmas Eve. I would trade my family for the world and really enjoy the time I get with them. We enjoyed appetizers by the fire side, opening presents and a late dinner that was carefully selected and tasted wonderful! I was exhausted and was asleep before midnight and so was Parker.
Parker got his first chair from my parents with his name on it. Although he didn't pay too much to it when he got it. He loves to sit in it now and play with his toys! It will be great for him as he grows.
Parker also received a super cute Ralph Lauren Polo from his Aunt Megan, Uncle Josh and Crazy M & M cousins...

I can't forget the musical instruments he also got! The drum, piano and xylophone are all so fun for Parker to bang on and make lots of noise!

Walking with my Mimi! We went home with soooo much...Parker also got pajamas, bath towels, photo album, money, socks, musical teddy bear and many more toys!! Spoiled little boy!

10 Month Ouchy!

Parker is 10 months today and has a big ouchy! Now that he is in the beginning stages of walking there will be many bumps and bruises just like when he started pulling up on everything.

Yesterday, he was walking along the bed when he decided to let go. He proceeded to walk and lost his balance falling face first into the nightstand. Daddy was there to witness the whole thing. They were both a basket case...one in pain and the other devastated at the thought that his baby boy had gotten hurt. He hit right on the eyebrow bone and it split open, bleeding immediately. After trying to get it to stop bleeding, I got the phone call at work. I could hear the panic in Todd's voice which then made me panic. What a helpless feeling that was. Parker then paid a visit to the Dr where he got cleaned up and sterile strips applied. Thank goodness there was another option besides the 3 stitches that were needed. This is just the beginning...Geez!

1st Christmas

Santa was good to Parker for his first Christmas! The fun festivities all started Christmas Eve at the Barnett's. There was great food and friends! Todd was even able to join us which made the night even more enjoyable. Parker loves him some Auntie Kris. They played and played together...

After the party we took Parker home to get him in bed for Santa but he did not want to go to sleep at all. I think he was so excited he couldn't sleep! He finally passed out on our drive around the neighborhood at 11pm to look at Christmas lights. Then the fun began for Todd and I...assembling all the toys we got him! With Christmas Music playing and Hot Chocolate in hand we began! Then the stocking were hung above the chimney with care...in hopes that
Saint Nicholas would soon be there!

The next morning, Parker rose with a smile to see what Santa had left him under the tree!

Later that day we went to Aunt Kelly's for Christmas with the Fam but got a cute picture of Parker in his bib eating lunch 1st!

It was yet another Wonderful Christmas and one to put in the books since it was Parker's 1st Christmas. We will conclude the festivities on New Year's Eve with the final Christmas with my family!

The Magical Weekend

Wow! What a fun weekend we had. It all started Sunday when we met the family at Esparza's in Grapevine for Margaritas and a late lunch. Their nachos are AMAZING and the Rita's are too! Following lunch we headed to the Gaylord with a sleeping Parker in tow. We started off the night going to ICE! And let me tell you, it was COLD! Parker wouldn't wear his parka so we took turns tucking him in each of our parka's. He was in awww and so were we. The sculptures are awesome. Following ICE we made our way to Fireside Pies....where we had some more amazing food!

I found that there are truly genuine people in this world while at dinner. Being that it was 8 o'clock and way past Parker's bedtime, I failed to bring formula as we ventured to dinner. There was a very sweet family there who offered up some formula for Mr. P. She was my lifesaver as he was getting very anxious for his milk!

We finally returned to the hotel late and were all exhausted. Parker went straight to bed, but being that it was a new place he woke up at 4am. He finally went back to sleep about 6am but in bed with us. That is something we don't ever do anymore but when you want sleep you gotta do whatcha gotta do! He is NOT easy to sleep with. Head on one of us and feet sticking into the side of the other. I think he gets that from his Cuz Meadow!!

Today was Santa Day. We woke up late and went and had breakfast. While eating breakfast I spotted Martellus Bennett walking through getting his eat on too! Next was Good Ole' Saint Nick! Will he Scream? Cry? Smile? We were the first in line after waiting an hour. Parker did good despite not getting a smile out of him. He sat there with all the girls first and then with Santa by himself. No tears just pure doubt!

It was a GREAT time all together and a must do next year!

First Steps!

He did it! A week ago Parker and I were playing and I stood him up by himself as usual and here he came...2 steps!! It was so exciting to witness. He got so excited when he realized what had happened. He has continued to take a few steps here and there with 6 steps in a row being his longest. Here is a video of when he took his 6 steps but I only caught the last step (my camera wasn't cooperating!)
