15 1/2 weeks and growing

Parker is growing so fast and doing new things everyday! Some of the new things he is doing is getting excited while playing with his toys, wanting to stand rather than sit up and blowing bubbles.
This past week has been real challenging at times. He goes down great for his naps during the day but when it comes time for bed time he chooses not to go down so easy. He cries and cries and cries. Monday night he woke up at 3am and didn't go back down till 4:30am. Todd was so helpful and let me sleep while he got him back down since I had to get up at 5am for work. Tonight was better though...He went down after I gave him a little pep talk about going "night night" when he is told :o) Hopefully tomorrow night goes just as smooth.
Parker has been sleeping in his crib for a full week now! It is such a wonderful feeling and I wasn't even sad when I moved him. It is allowing ALL of us to get a good nights rest and for Todd and I to get things done while he is down rather than tip towing around the house.

Fun in the Sun!

Parker has been busy hanging out outside lately. As I have said before, he loves being outside so that is our safe haven when he is fussy. Here are some pictures of him hanging out..

Teething

Parker is teething majorly lately. I think he is experiencing almost every symptom...major drooling, hands (thumb) in the mouth, diarrhea, fussy and red spots on his checks once. I ordered his teething beads a couple weeks ago and received them today. I am very excited about them. Here is a little bit about them from the website http://www.amberartisans.com/:

Amber teething beads for babies are hand-made of natural Baltic amber, lovingly hand-crafted by Lithuanian amber artisans with generations of experience who carefully polish and softly round the amber beads so that they lay comfortably against the child’s skin. This allows maximum skin contact and gives added comfort to your child.

Another homeopathic remedy a friend told me about is teething tablets. They are all natural and dissolve under the tongue. He isn't quite sure about the taste of them yet but I'm sure it will grow on him.

Who knows when a tooth will come in but I hope one of these things I am doing will help relieve the pain while he is teething.

Check out this picture of him right after I put his (hippy!) necklace on him. He was standing up and was a little wobbly but it looked like he was dancing and laughing!

Big Comfy T-Shirt

Growing up I had a big comfy t-shirt of my dad's that I loved to wear. I remember exactly what it looked like...a grey Russell Athletic shirt that was made of the softest material. It had holes all over it! I put Parker in an OU onesie yesterday that reminded me of a big comfy t-shirt which I am sure he will have one day! It made me want that t-shirt again!

What a Wonderful Night...

Last night was a good night for Mommy and Parker at least! I put him down to sleep at 10pm and followed shortly after. Todd didn't get home till late so we didn't wait up. Neither Parker or I woke up till 6:45am. I was quite confused at first. I thought maybe I fed him and didn't remember but after looking in my phone (where I keep up with his feedings) there was nothing....HE HAD SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! It was so exciting I had to wake up Todd to tell him. He was only up for an hour and a half before he went back down for a 4 hour nap.

3 months!!!

Parker is officially on a schedule..He is going to bed between 9:30 and 11pm and waking around 9:45am with two or three 1-2 (sometimes 3) hour naps a day. I completely understand why people don't want to get their baby off of that schedule so they don't venture far from home because it ends up being holy hell at bed time or even before that. Parker has been known to fight sleep so if he ends up missing a nap then he screams and screams and screams. It isn't fun for anyone involved.

He was officially 3 months old on the 28th of May. He celebrated by taking 3 naps that day!! He is starting to grab at things...toys, our hands, our face, my hair. We got him a swing for the backyard and Todd got it hung this past weekend. He loves it so much he has fallen asleep in it! I also bought him a floaty for the pool. We got to try it on on Memorial Day and it was a success...well after the bottom lip stuck out a few times because of his uncertainty. He is a little too small for it now but will grow into it soon enough.

He has had so much fun playing with his cousins Madeleine and Meadow. They both adore him and he loves hanging out with them. I know they are ready for him to start digging for bugs with them too! I do love that they kept telling my that I am such a good mommy!! That is a great thing to hear :) They are both a huge help when he is around...holding him and playing with him. Madeleine is getting good at even carrying him around (a little scary but cute).

There will be pictures to come once I get my camera back...

Growing up...

Parker is growing up so fast. He has become a real "Chunky Monkey" in the past couple weeks. He is getting a little more active with his toys and has a real interest in the TV. It is exciting and sad all at the same time. I love when he does something new but I miss it when he was so small.
Well Parker has had some firsts this past week. Last Friday night he spent the night away from home. His Mimi and Papi watched him while we went to dinner and then we all stayed the night over there. He did great despite him fighting sleep. Then Wednesday he went to his first Rangers Game. He did awesome! He loves to look around at everything going on and he loves being outside so it was right up his alley. Todd and I were even able to go to a part of the stands where I was able to feed him discreetly.
This week Parker also received formula....it wasn't his first time because I have had to do it one other time. He had it for 4 feedings while I was at work. As mentioned in my past blogs, we have been trying to figure out his tummy issue so the Dr had me do without dairy and nut products for 4 days...so unless the milk was freshly pumped he couldn't have it. The formula did not set well with his tummy and he will no longer take it if I have no other choice. That's OK though since I would rather him not have it unless we absolutely have to give it to him.
Parker went swimming for the first time this weekend. The only part of him that went into the water was his toes but he was all dressed up in his swimsuit and hat!! It was too cute!

I think I finally have Parker on some sort of schedule...if you want to call it that! He usually goes to bed around 10 or 11pm and feeds 2-3 times before waking up around 9:30am. He will then take 2 long naps during the day. He will let you know when he is ready to go to sleep too! We plan on transitioning him to his crib as soon as we receive the baby monitor battery in the mail. It has been back ordered so it is delaying the transition. We will have his room all decorated in the next couple weeks also. I will post new pictures once the curtains are made and hung and all the decorations are on the wall.
He still makes his legs and arms go 90 to nothing....he is a busy busy boy! I had to put that in there so I remember it one day looking back!

Parker has been a busy babbler lately...here is one of his latest and greatest videos!!
