This was our first year to attend or participate in the Children's Christmas program at church. Parker had been practicing every Wednesday at Kid's Club. His class would sing Away in a Manger. Just weeks before the event, he couldn't sing one word of it then all of a sudden he was singing the whole verse. My favorite memory of practicing was one morning he was laying on the couch and the song was playing on the radio. After the singing along with the only verse he knew the next verse came on. He looked at Todd and said, "We have a problem. I don't know this part!"
He did really well at the program. He sang loud and did the motions just right!
Following all the singing. Van got on stage in his pj's with all the kids gathered around and told the Christmas story. Parker listened very intently!
