A New Era...

I feel like I have reached a new era in my pregnancy. My body temperature has sky rocketed and my energy is back. At night I sweat my butt off while Todd is freezing...if you know me at all, you would know that I am ALWAYS cold! I even love this cold weather! I am trying to adjust but it's hard..I love to be wrapped up in blankets!

I am full of energy now too! I have started working out again and it feels great! I'm sure all this energy will be put to good use when I start "nesting".

Well, I am now 30 weeks and it is getting here fast. Only 68 more days...and counting! I think I will miss the feeling the baby kick in my tummy though. It's such a special feeling that you can't explain and will never know until you are pregnant. It's comforting when the baby kicks..It seems to make everything ok!

Here is a picture of me and my big ol belly...enjoy!

Are you listening baby???

Our neighbor Ravi gave us our first book to read to the baby. It's Dr. Suess's Oh, Baby, the Places You'll GO!. I kept wondering if the baby was listening! I'm sure he/she will always listen to his/her mother and father. We ALWAYS know best! We also got a couple baby books for Christmas from Todd's parents that we are going to read tonight.

So, the baby continues to be stubborn. Tonight we tried to listen to the heartbeat. After trying to find it around all the kicking the baby was doing, we finally found it. I was in the process of starting to record it and I lost it..I finally gave up because I couldn't find it again...just lots of kicks and punches from the baby. I sure hope this doesn't mean Baby Dehls isn't going to be stubborn when he/she comes out!

The baby has been a real pain in my back lately. I have almost recoded from my leg injury and now my back hurts...my great boss at work got me a prenatal massage for my Birthday/Early Christmas! Thanks Chrissa! I will enjoy EVERY minute of it!

HoHoHo! Baby Dehls is going to have to wait till next year to enjoy Christmas. I have decided that that is ok..The baby will be at a really fun age for next year's Christmas and we will be able to get all sorts of fun new toys! Only 6 more days...I hope everyone has a Blessed Christmas!

Stubborn Little One!

I went for my 3D today and it was really neat! My parents and Todd's parents also joined us and we made it a very special event for everyone! I didn't think Baby Dehls was going to cooperate but we got some good shots after all! I drank OJ before going and that didn't do much. The baby likes to keep it's face covered with it's hands.

This was one of my favorite pictures! The baby was sticking it's tongue out at us! It did this several times..it was so cute.

This wasn't the best one we got of the little one's face but we got a glimpse into it's eye!

Here's a good one of those sweet little feet!

Wow! Look at those long fingers! We have decided that the baby has my fingers!

The pictures are so real! It's amazing that you can see so much...Now we only have to wait 81 more days for our little angel to arrive!

My mother-in-law gave my a neat little gift today. It is a Willow Tree Figurine..I have put it out in my living room to enjoy! It is called "Cherish". It's a pregnant woman... "ME"!

Only 14 days till Christmas, which means more family gatherings. I hope my sweet baby grows to love and appreciate family as much as I do. They are all such special people to me!

Birthday Fun!

This weekend was my 24th Birthday! Although I spend a lot of time with my new friend "the heating pad", it was a Great Weekend! (I pulled my groin. That is why the heating pad is my friend..not fun at all.) My niece had a dance recital Saturday and she was too cute! She really liked being center of attention!

We also went to Christmas on The Square in Weatherford...it was so so COLD. We didn't last long. We were quick to get back to my parents and eat dinner and my Birthday Dessert (Bread Pudding!!!). My mom's birthday is on the 8th so we went and had Brunch at Blue Mesa today to celebrate both Birthdays!! This was followed by going to Babies R Us and Target to create our baby registry! Oh so much work....It took us 3 hours. I sure am glad that Starbucks accompanied us on this adventure because it was so cold and drizzly. Babies need so much! Those were only 2 of the 4 places I registered. The other two are online only.

The baby will be here soon! I will start my 3rd Trimester Tuesday when I am 28 weeks. It is amazing how time flies. I sure hope this week flies because we get another peak at the baby Friday! Can't wait to share the pictures with you!

I hope everyone has a Blessed Holiday Season and a Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving break has been a nice break! A break from the usual routine of life, although I have been very busy. The Sunday before Thanksgiving we went to my parents and had Thanksgiving there and Thanksgiving Day we went to Mt. Pleasant to visit Todd's side of the family. There was a lot of eating between the two Days! I think the baby enjoyed all the eating though! I'm not sure the baby enjoyed getting up at 3am Friday morning to go Black Friday shopping. We went to Wal-Mart and got 4 shopping carts full of toys for Toys For Tots! I was exhausted after that! A nap was definitely due... We did get the house inside and out decorated with all our Christmas stuff! It looks so warm and cozy! I love all the lights during Christmas.

Tomorrow, I am going to cross my fingers that I don't get a phone call from the Dr. I had my glucose Test this past Tuesday and the only reason they said they would call is if I need to come back and do the 4 hour test :( I really don't want to do that. I go back to the Dr. on the 11th for a tummy check and our 3D Sonogram!

Upstairs we have a second living room. Todd and I unexpectedly ran into a GREAT deal at Dillard's last weekend and were able to buy some furniture for the second living room. I wanted over sized chairs that were extra comfy because I know when the baby comes I will be spending a lot of time in there. Todd even ordered me a new TV so I can watch TV while I'm up with the baby in the middle of the night! It's all coming together! Here's a look at the chairs we got!

Holidays

The sound and feel of winter is in the air! I love this time of year. I love the music, the cold, the decorating, and the time I get to spend with our families. All the memories are created and shared during these times. I am even more excited about starting a family. It is going to totally change our lives. There will be so many new adventures and challenges ahead of us.

My next appointment is a week from today and I get to drink the sugar stuff...YUCK! I will go every two weeks now. At least I get to hear the heart beat! Time is going to fly by. Last night I was telling Todd I couldn't believe it was Thanksgiving already. He said "We are going to say the same thing in March!" Well, here is a picture of me from today. I am 25 weeks...
My brother-in-law, Josh, came over today and put in the kitchen back splash. It was very exciting! Our house has been a slow remodel but I love every little thing we have done to it! Let me know what you think!

Circle of Life

Yesterday, a very special person in our lives went to Heaven. My grandmother went to be with the Lord and my papa. She is going to be missed by all, as she was a very special person. I know that she is very peaceful now. She was very excited about the new grandchild that will be born in March. I got to show her the sonogram of the baby and let her feel the baby kick just a week before she passed. It was a very special time and memory for me. It will be a memory I will be able to share with the baby when he/she is older. The pastor made a good point as we were all standing there. It's "The Circle of Life", one life is ending and another beginning. We will all encounter the end one day, but it's more important that you know where you are going. I know my granny is now in Heaven and I hope everyone who reads this is going there too. She would love to meet you.

OH...Baby, Baby, Baby!

Well, I finally gave in and bought my first two pairs of Maternity jeans! The Bella Band only worked for so long and it finally got to the point that I am not comfortable anymore. I can't wait for them to come in the mail tomorrow!

Several website say that the baby should weigh a pound and a half now! I can tell the baby is growing everyday. The movements are very evident in my belly! I have noticed this week my body temperature has begun to rise also. Usually I am ALWAYS cold but not anymore....I was super HOT last night and I am sure I will be until my little angel is born.

I will be 6 months on Tuesday and have a doctor appointment Wednesday. My appointment is with another doctor at the same office. It is a group of doctors so I need to get to know them all now. Who knows who will deliver the baby?!

I will be 26 weeks (6 1/2 mo) at Thanksgiving! I can't wait to see everyone and for everyone to see the baby bump.

All the lasts with SO MANY FIRSTS TO COME!

Today, Todd and I spent the day together. He made breakfast, we took a nap, watched the Cowboy game, went for a walk, worked in the yard and enjoyed a lovely dinner together! There are so many things we will do between now and March that will be the last time we do it as a couple. The last Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, Valentines Day....BUT there are so many firsts to come! We can't wait to embrace every minute of every moment with our new addition to the family. There will be no more weekends that I am bored at home while Todd is at work but filled with fun and excitement from the little one! Todd is excited about having a reason to watch cartoon's...especially at the holidays! Everything will have a new meaning when we get to see it through our child's eyes! It makes it that much more special! I could go on and on about all the exciting firsts....

Fun and Relaxing Weekend!

This weekend has been a lot of fun. Although we really haven't done much, Todd was off Saturday and Sunday! Saturday we went and bought the baby stroller because they were discontinuing the color we wanted and then went to my parents. The baby got to sit by the out door fire place with us and watch my nieces roast marshmallows!

Today Todd felt the baby kick for the first time! It was very exciting for the both of us. I think it was the orange juice! We just put the stroller together. I think it took a total of 10 minutes to assemble. Easy Breezy!

Here is a picture of Todd with the stroller...I must let you know that the mohawk is temporary! He had to shave it because they raised more money than last year at the OTB in Burleson for Susan G. Komen. He has to wear it pink tomorrow to work! He definitely has to wear a hat when we are together in public! Hope you enjoy the picture!

Married Two Years Today!

I was having a bad day at work today but my WONDERFUL husband of 2 years made everything better! I got an Edible Arrangement delivered to my office at lunch. I was so yummy and really made my day! Thanks babe! I think the baby even liked the fruit...oh and the chocolate of course!

Well to top things off, when I got home I had a dozen red roses and lily's waiting for me! I think Todd did pretty good...ok GREAT! He even cooked dinner but we all know he does that anyways...I'm not much of a cooker. Here's a picture of my pretty flowers...

Food For Thought

So, I was thinking today. I was thinking about how the baby is starting to hear voices. Do you think the baby knows ahead of time if he/she is going to have siblings? Just think...the baby would be able to hear those voices along with the mommy and daddy's. Does the baby even distinguish between the different voices?? It's all such an interesting phenomenon. I know that Todd really enjoys talking to the baby!

What is that....oh, It's the baby kicking finally!

I am now 20 weeks and getting bigger by the minute! The baby went from never being felt to doing flips in my tummy this past week! Baby D is active all times of day now!! At first it was only at night and I was a little worried I was going to have a night owl (which I am not at all)! Todd hasn't been able to feel it but hopefully he will soon! It is the greatest feeling.

I had an appointment this morning and got to see our little ANGEL........Here is the sonogram I got! So big compared to the first sonogram. The heart beat this time was 154 bpm. The nurse said that he/she weights approx. 11 1/2 oz and is 8 3/4 in. long. Below are two of the pictures I got. One is of the whole body and the other is the baby smiling at us! If we wanted to find out the sex, we wouldn't have been able to today because the baby was curled up so tight with all the goodies hidden! We go back on November 11th! They really do need to make appointments closer together. A month is WAY too long for me to wait in anticipation. Even if it is to hear the little one's heart beat!

Below is a picture of the growing tummy for those of you I don't see on a regular basis. It's amazing how clothes fit one week and the next week they are a little tight! At least I have an excuse...BABY! It was early in the morning when the picture was taken so I wasn't awake yet!

We bought our first big baby item this past weekend. Thanks to a good friend, we were able to get a toddler car seat at a really good price! A little ahead of ourselves because we haven't even gotten our infant car seat but I couldn't pass it up. The only thing we have left to pick out is the furniture. Hopefully it will be quick and painless and NOT back ordered!

I got a really neat book in the mail from my mother-in-law a few weeks ago..it has been a great guide to buying baby stuff. Every mother should have it or read it at least!

Around 28 weeks (Christmas), Todd and I are going to have a 3D Sonogram done and we won't even find out the sex! Exciting for me and a bummer for some of you dying to know. I just love technology (sometimes)! We are going to have both of our parents there to share in this neat event! We even get a video to show the baby later and color sonograms! So Cool!

Life Changing Events

You never know how things will affect you until they actually happen. Todd was off work for four months and just recently started his new job. There was much talk and discussion about how things would be when he was a working. I think reality has finally set in now that I am helping with the cooking and doing the cleaning by myself :). I am very thankful for his new job but am dealing with the emotional aspects of not having him every weekend to do the things we love to do together--watch football, have breakfast in bed, go shopping, and be with the family.

I feel the same will be when the baby comes. We can do all the planning ahead of time but you don't realize what a life changing event it really is. The baby's room may be ready and the nursery stocked but the emotional and mental changes will be so dramatic. We will have another life to care for everyday. I don't think this is something parents will ever be fully prepared for. You never really know how it will affect you until it happens. All I can do is pray and leave it to the Lord....

Got the BABY BUMP going!!!

Todd and I went to the doctor today and heard the baby's heart beat. It was 144 bpm! Our next appointment is October 15th. We will get to have another sonogram done finally!!! We aren't going to find out the sex still...for all those dying to know, it will add to the excitement on the day of!

I have been feeling a ton better but am lacking in energy. While Todd is at work on the weekends, I am usually on the couch in comfy clothes all day. It's wonderful but at the same time I feel so worthless.Comfy is definitely key when you are pregnant. I have had a hard time finding comfy maternity clothes so I am going to settle for regular clothes in a bigger size plus the clothes at the maternity stores aren't that cute. I bought the only cute shirt at Motherhood maternity the other day.

I have decided that being pregnant in the middle of the summer would suck. If I get hot I feel horrible and we all know that summers in Texas are HOT! Just cooking makes me hot. I made dinner one night for Todd and had to sit down so he could finish it...I know...I'm pathetic!! Easy way out :)

I have definitely learned that pregnant women do not get special treatment. I was at Waly World the other day with my cute "expecting" tee that my mom got me and the guy just looked at me after he rang me up...since when do you put your own groceries in the cart?! I was so mad when I left there...that was just RUDE of him!

Here is a cute shirt shirt my mom got me!! I love it! Thanks Mom!

I had the weirdest dream this past week. I went into labor at only 20 weeks but was really full term but the doctors did not know it! When I left the hospital I was totally unprepared and didn't have a car seat so Todd and I drove around with the baby in our arms!! I was so worried the next morning about buying a car seat!!! I was ready to order it immediately but we all know I have a ways to go.

End of First Trimester..Woohoo!

Yesterday I was officially 13 weeks and now onto my 14th week. Baby Dehls has started taking some of my oxygen and I am exhausted all the time now. I feel so bad for Todd because I walk in the door, eat dinner and on to bed.... I guess after a 10 hour work day anyone would be exhausted! Friday's a absolutely fabulous though because I am off! Hopefully in a week or 2 I will have my energy back!

Todd finished paining the bead board and trim in the baby's room! It is a creamy white that my mom picked out. It is going to go great with the new bedding I picked out! The walls will either be petal pink for a girl or a light green for a boy! I am dead set on this bedding..thanks to my friend Jana in NJ telling me that Restoration Hardware sells baby stuff! Check it out below and let me know what you think!

Todd is going to take a break from working on the room until he puts up the crown molding! Can't wait! For now we are just counting our blessings and our little blessing that is on it's way!

I already know that motherhood is going to be real challenging. I listen to 103.7 in the morning and the last couple weeks have been about going back to school and parenting. You really have to think about what is best for your baby especially as they are growing older and you have to start disciplining. Hundreds of things run through my head a day...what to do in certain situations? Am I going to be a good parent? All I know is that I have to put it in God's hands and trust that he will guide me and make me a good parent.

2nd Appointment @ 12 weeks

I had my second dr. appointment this morning and everything is going well. I got to hear the baby's heart beat and it is very strong! I go back September 17 for the same check up appointment and then again at 20 weeks! At my 20 week appointment I will finally get another sonogram!!!

Last night Todd took pictures of the Baby Bump! It is slowly forming but definitely there.

The baby's room is almost ready to paint! Todd and our great neighbor Don put up the chairrailing today. Todd is going to be a busy man when the baby comes! Actually I have recruited my mom and sister to get the baby's room decorated once the baby comes. Thanks guys!

We have picked out a boys name and a girls name. Parker Wayne Dehls for a boy and Rylee Jordan Dehls if it's a girl! I have already started my girl folder and my boy folder just like my sister did...

11 weeks!

I am 11 weeks today! I can't believe it. It has been a really good day too! I haven't been sick yet! I don't have much to write except that I am feeling better.

My 2nd appointment is next Tuesday morning! Hopefully we will get another sonogram of the growing baby.

Todd is priming the walls for when we actually get to paint when the baby comes....I hate painting. Well maybe it hates me because it get it EVERYWHERE!

I'm not really having any cravings....except last night! SNO-CONES! Yum....it was sooooo good!

Baby Room

So, Todd and I really didn't have much going this weekend so we got started on the baby's room! We are putting bead board around the bottom with a chair rail to cap it off. That will be painted taupe! The walls will either be painted green or a deep red depending on the sex of the baby upon it's arrival! Just adding to the anticipation!

Here is a before picture of the room. We had originally gone with yellow walls when we redid the room the first time but things change!

Sooner Baby

Friday, Todd and I went to Lone Star Baby in North Richland Hills. He found the above Sooner gear for the baby and had to get it! I am sure this will be the first of many more sooner outfits.

For all of you who don't already know....we are going to wait and find out the sex of the baby when the baby comes! It will make it more exciting for us all!

Well, the sickness is still here. Todd is going to get my RX in a min and I am going to continue lying on the couch!

Growing Strong!

I had my first doctor's appointment today and everything is going great! Todd went with me. We had a sonogram and got to see the baby along with the heart beat. It was very exciting. There is only one baby growing in my tummy...sorry to disappoint those you of who were wanting me to have twins! My next appointment will be August 18th. My due date is still March 2nd so I only have 5 more weeks left in my first trimester.

Thank you for all the prayers and support in me getting pregnant. We are so thankful for all our wonderfull family and friends!
