2 Milestones in less than 24 hours...

My baby is growing so fast. Last night he ate his first solid food and this morning he rolled over for the first time! I had gone to work and Todd was home with him. He said that he was waking up and babbling as usual so Todd was just giving him a few minutes. When he looked at the baby monitor, Parker was on his back! He had rolled over! Todd called me immediately to tell me. I was so sad I wasn't there but so happy. He is growing too fast...

Pears...Yummy!

Parker got to taste his first solid food tonight. We chose pears to be his first food. I was so excited about it. I had him in his highchair45 min before I even got to feed him. Todd rushed off to the grocery store picking up 2 pears. When he got home, I had the Beaba Babycook already to put the pears in and steam. I paced impatiently back and forth in the kitchen as it steamed and was so excited when I got to puree next! Just minutes later we had homemade baby food. That little gadget is so cool and so worth it! Once we got the food cooled down it was ready to serve. Obviously we knew he would only be taking a few small bites so I only got a itty bitty bowl out! Now it was time for the first bite...dun dun dun...he made the funniest face when he tasted the first bite and every bite there after. We laughed and so did he. Also, pears are white so we barely had a mess which was nice!

4 Month Check-up

Parker went for his 4 month check-up today. I can't believe it has gotten here so fast. He was stylin and profilin on the way there in his new shades!

But he wasn't feeling too hot after his nap and I took advantage of some cuddle time with my sweet boy. He got two shots at the Dr. He did a little better than last time and didn't scream as long but still turned red. He was really babbling at the nurse after the shots....I think he was cursing her :o). Here are Parker's specs from his appointment:

Weight: 14 lbs 15 oz....55%

Length: 24 in.....25%

Head: 42 1/2 cm.....55%

Dr says everything looks good and he is a growing boy. We found out that he doesn't have in grown toe nails but "rug burn" on his toe from laying on his tummy squirming. The Dr also said we can start feeding him solid food!! We are to start with pears, apricots and prunes. That got me so excited! I was finally able to get my Beaba Babycook out that Janna and Gina gave me. I will be using it tomorrow night for the first time to make Parker some tasting food! I sure hope he likes it!

The smallest Biggest Rangers Fan

Parker went to two Rangers games this week. Wednesday night we went to my works suite and Thursday to Bill & Kris's office. Although he became fussy at times, he did pretty well as was exhausted when we left. Here's a picture of him with a Rangers Ice Cream 'hat' cup on!!
Parker has been to 4 games already this season and has many more to go to!!! I think Parker is good luck to the Rangers that is why they have won every game he has been to!

Fathers Day Weekend

This was Todd's first Fathers Day and I think he had a pretty good one! Saturday was his day off so we spent the day at home. We didn't get out of bed till 11am. It was wonderful. Parker had woken up at 6:45 but went back down at 7:45am. We all got some much needed rest! Todd and Parker got to spend some quality time together that evening as I cooked dinner but I was able to catch some cute pictures.
Parker got his first feeding of rice cereal on Sunday. It was mixed with some breast milk and he drank it like a champ!! We are going to try this every night to see if he will start sleeping through the night.
On Father's Day, Parker and I went to my parents and spent the day with my dad "Papi". I enjoyed the little time in between Parker screaming that I got to hang out. It was a rough day for P...poor guy.
Tonight we notice something BIG!!! Looks as if he is getting his first tooth on the bottom...explains all the fussiness lately! Once it breaks through I'll post pics!

'Hair'

Parker found his hair this week..it is so cute to watch him rub his head with one hand and a curious look on his face. His hair has turned from dark brown at birth to almost all blonde now 16 weeks later. I wonder what color it will really be?!?!
Parker is really been a talker and laugher lately....check out his newest video!!

15 1/2 weeks and growing

Parker is growing so fast and doing new things everyday! Some of the new things he is doing is getting excited while playing with his toys, wanting to stand rather than sit up and blowing bubbles.
This past week has been real challenging at times. He goes down great for his naps during the day but when it comes time for bed time he chooses not to go down so easy. He cries and cries and cries. Monday night he woke up at 3am and didn't go back down till 4:30am. Todd was so helpful and let me sleep while he got him back down since I had to get up at 5am for work. Tonight was better though...He went down after I gave him a little pep talk about going "night night" when he is told :o) Hopefully tomorrow night goes just as smooth.
Parker has been sleeping in his crib for a full week now! It is such a wonderful feeling and I wasn't even sad when I moved him. It is allowing ALL of us to get a good nights rest and for Todd and I to get things done while he is down rather than tip towing around the house.

Fun in the Sun!

Parker has been busy hanging out outside lately. As I have said before, he loves being outside so that is our safe haven when he is fussy. Here are some pictures of him hanging out..

Fell asleep sucking my thumb!

Teething

Parker is teething majorly lately. I think he is experiencing almost every symptom...major drooling, hands (thumb) in the mouth, diarrhea, fussy and red spots on his checks once. I ordered his teething beads a couple weeks ago and received them today. I am very excited about them. Here is a little bit about them from the website http://www.amberartisans.com/:

Amber teething beads for babies are hand-made of natural Baltic amber, lovingly hand-crafted by Lithuanian amber artisans with generations of experience who carefully polish and softly round the amber beads so that they lay comfortably against the child’s skin. This allows maximum skin contact and gives added comfort to your child.

Another homeopathic remedy a friend told me about is teething tablets. They are all natural and dissolve under the tongue. He isn't quite sure about the taste of them yet but I'm sure it will grow on him.

Who knows when a tooth will come in but I hope one of these things I am doing will help relieve the pain while he is teething.

Check out this picture of him right after I put his (hippy!) necklace on him. He was standing up and was a little wobbly but it looked like he was dancing and laughing!

Big Comfy T-Shirt

Growing up I had a big comfy t-shirt of my dad's that I loved to wear. I remember exactly what it looked like...a grey Russell Athletic shirt that was made of the softest material. It had holes all over it! I put Parker in an OU onesie yesterday that reminded me of a big comfy t-shirt which I am sure he will have one day! It made me want that t-shirt again!

What a Wonderful Night...

Last night was a good night for Mommy and Parker at least! I put him down to sleep at 10pm and followed shortly after. Todd didn't get home till late so we didn't wait up. Neither Parker or I woke up till 6:45am. I was quite confused at first. I thought maybe I fed him and didn't remember but after looking in my phone (where I keep up with his feedings) there was nothing....HE HAD SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! It was so exciting I had to wake up Todd to tell him. He was only up for an hour and a half before he went back down for a 4 hour nap.

3 months!!!

Parker is officially on a schedule..He is going to bed between 9:30 and 11pm and waking around 9:45am with two or three 1-2 (sometimes 3) hour naps a day. I completely understand why people don't want to get their baby off of that schedule so they don't venture far from home because it ends up being holy hell at bed time or even before that. Parker has been known to fight sleep so if he ends up missing a nap then he screams and screams and screams. It isn't fun for anyone involved.

He was officially 3 months old on the 28th of May. He celebrated by taking 3 naps that day!! He is starting to grab at things...toys, our hands, our face, my hair. We got him a swing for the backyard and Todd got it hung this past weekend. He loves it so much he has fallen asleep in it! I also bought him a floaty for the pool. We got to try it on on Memorial Day and it was a success...well after the bottom lip stuck out a few times because of his uncertainty. He is a little too small for it now but will grow into it soon enough.

He has had so much fun playing with his cousins Madeleine and Meadow. They both adore him and he loves hanging out with them. I know they are ready for him to start digging for bugs with them too! I do love that they kept telling my that I am such a good mommy!! That is a great thing to hear :) They are both a huge help when he is around...holding him and playing with him. Madeleine is getting good at even carrying him around (a little scary but cute).

There will be pictures to come once I get my camera back...
